Those numbers are crazy! Good for him for making all-pro...he doesn't need to be in the probowl beauty contest.

I bet you when the top 100 players of 2017 voted on by NFL players Harrison Smith will be in the top half (50). I think he has been in the top 100 the past two years. So at least the NFL players recognize him.

It's insane how he's playing at a hall of fame level but not even making pro bowls. What gives? Why aren't people voting for him? Minnesota is good this year too.
If he was in a bigger market like New York, Boston, LA, Dallas, Chicago he would have gotten the votes....shrug

No one cares about making the ProBowl. All Pro is a far more prestigious award.

Yes and no. Fans who don't really know the game, only their own team, or just the basics, see Pro Bowl on par with All Pro. For his "image" it hurts, but he clearly isn't one to care.

Don't know why it won't embed. Link is to Brian Polian interviewing Harrison Smith on why he chose ND.

On this episode of the Notre Dame Minute, @BrianPolian interviews former Fighting Irish Safety @HarriSmith22 who shares why he chose Notre Dame when being from SEC country.

I expected someone to post about how SF's Kittle said Harrison Smith is one of the best trash talkers in the league.

Harrison Smith joins an elite list of players all time with 1,000+ combined tackles, 35+ interceptions, and 20+ sacks in their career:

• Brian Dawkins
• Charles Woodson
• Ronde Barber

These 3 players are in the Hall Of Fame. Harrison is next.
That is correct all 3 are Hall of Famers. Serious question…do we think Harrison Smith gets into the hall of fame? What percentage chance do you give him?

Pretty low. Safety is a tough position to get into the Hall and his accolades do not compare well to the modern safeties like Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Brian Dawkins, and John Lynch. Lynch spent a long time waiting to get in while having twice as many All Pro selections AND being an incredibly important part to a dominant defense that won a Super Bowl. Harrison has been very good but his accolades pale in comparison to many of his contemporaries.

Yeah this is kind of where I'm at as well. Don't get me wrong I would absolutely love Harrison Smith to get all the accolades he deserves and make the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately I think he falls short of making it 😢

Um, guys, we just read about where his gaudy accomplishments rank in the pantheon of NFL history. He’s in.

Like to put it this way, off the top of my head Budda Baker, Tyrann Mathieu, and Eric Berry all have more All Pros than Harrison Smith and I don't think anybody thinks these guys are slam dunk Hall of Famers. Maybe the Hall takes kindly to Harrison's Pro Bowls, but I'm not as sure about that.

I think it also hurts that he's played for Minnesota. If he had played for a team like Pittsburg or Dallas it would help him a lot more.

Look at the HoF monitor on Pro Football Reference. Look at the safeties on the DB list. He's nowhere near even an average HoFer. As much as I think he's great, 1 AllPro and 0 championships isn't gonna cut it.

Rodney Harrison was better and it's taken 11 years for him to even be a finalist in HoF voting.
