Dude, you shit your pants after anything negative happens, it's always the same poorly written grade 2 grammar sob story.

Other than Kirby and Cig, which other coach do you want on the sidelines? Give it a fucking break.
Very common after a loss. The Greatest Hits come out from all the same hitmakers. Suddenly history gets rewritten. Let's make a short list of who replaces Chris Ash, Denbrock this and that, etc. It's kind of exhausting that you have people who would rather do the Italian soccer method and just keep firing coaches until they get what they want. Doesn't really work, but cool.

It's a hard business. Especially now.

Mike Mickens should have gotten the job.

Unfortunately he’s a Miami loss away from becoming James Franklin in the eyes of the public.
If it weren't for the 2024 run, that would be true. I still think Freeman has a long leash with both ND and the general public. But he has to get better with big game preparation. We aren't that talented that we can just line up and do what we do and expect to win every game. Its ironic Freeman has been linked to NFL jobs, because that DEFINITELY won't work in the NFL.

The talent level ND has / will continue to have is also above Franklin, and there’s something to say for that. Talent acquisition is more important than being a in-game tactician. Saban says it all the time.

Better have a great presser next week

There’s nothing he can say to make it a “great” presser, imo. If I’m being honest, he talks a big game but it doesn’t show up when it matters the most. It’s rather annoying

Exactly. Don’t care about another great presser so the media can fawn over him. Get fucking angry and do something about it.

James Franklin pissed down his leg for a decade. After being a darling for his Vandy success. James Franklin has beat only 1 P4 team in the playoffs.

Freeman has already clowned Franklin’s top achievements.

It is not unreasonable to consider Freeman the third best coach in the entire NCAA right now. Lanning? Sark? Deboer? All have similar or worse warts. Pete Golding is still in year 1, Lane Kiffin lol, who else would you consider?

Yes, Freeman needs to be better. But, putting him in the Franklin conversation is nonsensical. Idk shoot Ash into the sun.

Leeway the most commonly mentioned coaches should get:

Freeman
Denbrock (quickly sliding, but his history will factor in)
Ash/Mike Brown

Could easily argue for Mike Brown below Ash. He’d be the first to be let go, possibly with Ash. I would honestly be surprised if Brown is still our WRs coach going into next season.

If we had anywhere close to OSUs/Texas’s WRs paired to CJ, we win the BYU game in spite of the coaching staff’s inadequacies. The WR unit is yet again our weakest unit, and we can never seem to figure it out.

I also can’t imagine we’ve struck out on all of the WRs on our roster, and so it has to be on development, or how the offense is set up (hard to learn), or just not using the right guys. Either way it comes down to coaching.

Yeah, I know, because he recruited well. Apart from that no one has even been able to answer the WHY to that. He's coaching DBs for the Ravens.

Alas, he didn't get the job and here we are, so who fucking cares.

When was the last time we had a good wide receivers coach?
Brown. Stuckey. Del Alexander for five damn years. Before him it apparently was Denbrock.
Was Urban Meyer the last WR coach who didn’t suck or get fired?

Could care less about the public. When the haters are right, they're right. They were right Saturday. Big deal. Join a conference, etc.

The bigger fish to fry is the internal one.

The eyes that matter are the people he reports to first and foremost. What would concern me after a Miami loss is that the fan base would start to have doubts and or lose faith. Myself included. The turnaround since NIU has been significant, but we're far past that point of Freeman's tenure now. He has resources and tools those who came before him could only ever dream about. If he can't deliver in a big game again after the Penn State semifinal, the doubts are going to start creeping in for the people that matter.

Does MFMF "think" to much during a game. Meaning, everything seems so analytical. Jotting notes down, having his analytics guy on his hip. I think he's doing too much analytics and and not enough in the weeds of the plays being called.

Who knows... at the very least, get him a notes guy. He should be doing that shit.

He seems to only write down mistakes. But idk.

Fun to think about. At least in terms of production, my mind goes back the Michael Floyd/Golden Tate years, loosely 2008-2011.
Both were 1k+ yard season receivers in college and had good enough stints in the NFL.

Rob Ianello was coaching the unit back then, and left around the time Kelly came on to go HC Akron. I believe he was even our interim head coach for a bit.

Tony Alford was then coaching up the WRs during the back end of that stretch - Mike Denbrock took over in 2012 right after Floyd left, while Alford rose in our ranks and eventually left a few years later for OSU.

I personally think Brian Jean Maryann or whatever sucks. Our lb’s can’t cover and he can’t recruit, even with a $$ advantage. What’s that Nick Lezyski kid doing?

Not calling for a change, at least, not at the HC, but the shine of the IU-UGA-PSU three-game stretch has worn the frick off...

You're only as a good as your last game, and I now see more Ohio State L, Miami L, A&M L, BYU L...

Warm the seat? ND is the #4 ranked team in the country and people are talking about his seat being warm. How some have forgotten the Davie and Willingham eras of ND is astonishing to me.
I think he means like Taco Bell warm..... Like maybe to many beans, in no universe is MF going to be on the hot seat, or warm set, or lukewarm seat.

Lol Freeman seat wont be warm unless we lose 5-6 games. Kelly lost 8 in year 5 and survived. The way we are recruiting only way we lose 5-6 games is if we have massive amounts of injures. Texas and Oregon have 2 losses already you think their seats hot? Grass aint always greener. Name me a coach you would rather have than Freeman? Ill wait!!

This is exactly the issue. All his best offenses have QB run game as a huge part of it, which he uses to open up other explosives. Without that, he really only has a couple things he does and it's pretty obvious to even casual fans what is coming most of the time. Nothing really "surprises" the defense and everything is skin-of-your-teeth for it to work, all tight window throws and shit like that.

I'm not saying he needs to be Sean McVay but go look at how the Rams call offense in the NFL and compare it to what we do. Somewhere in between that and throwing a gazillion fades is where we need to be.
Then why recruit Gerard and Grubbs?

Chris Fallica has a bear as his profile pic because he knows he’d be bullied incessantly if he put his fat ogre head on X
