... just a gawddamm horrible quicky to suddenly see in a post. especially since so much talk of this spiraling into career-ending surgery has been posted here. ... can't say how much i hate that sort of 'fun comment,' [part of which could be true for all anyone on-the-street knows.]

With the nerve damage I doubt he plays this year, and if he does he could be a shell of his former self. I would accept the likelihood he doesn't play for us again and may be done with football all together. Don't fuck around with ATVs/UTVs until you sign your 2nd NFL contract with guaranteed money!

Wow this would be awful. I’d like to think of given the time he will be back.

If you're counting on him to play at ND again, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
Well that will be a huge bummer. What a huge swing and a miss. Want to kick him in the ass for being flat out stupid and putting his career in jeopardy like that. Not to mention depriving our team of his talents.

Swing and miss?

I know you usually post some delusional stuff but yeah... This wasn't a swing and miss. This was just a freak event that has caused years of issues. You can criticize a kid for being a kid on a UTV, but cmon now.

Sadly I've resigned myself to the fact he won't play again. If he does it will be a bonus like unexpectedly finding a $20 in a pair of jeans you just put on.

Exactly. It's not like he asked for this to happen. NIL or not, these are college kids and they deserve to be able to have some fun. It was just a freak accident that could have happened to anybody.

Exactly.

I wish him well and hope that he is healthy as possible and has quality of life down the line without any issues in life. I have zero concern about his football career and it isn't in the back of my mind watching the team play without him.

It's a tremendous example of how you make the 40 year decision. He can earn his degree and have the connections to carry on with the next phase of his life. I just hope he's well enough and this doesn't slow him down in the long or short term.

"Counting on" ... no. "Very much wishing for" ... Yes. Tell me why that's not human and caring and even self-motivated as well.

Charles heals: He wins. Charles heals: ND Football wins. Charles heals: I win. Sounds like a good thing to wish for.

Don't know what's "not human and caring" about my post. I didn't say a thing negative about Jagusah.

But at this point in time, it's been more than a year since his injury and more than 20 months since he's played football. Expecting anything from this guy, let alone the expectation that he'll push for a starting job/contribute, just isn't realistic.

Just a typical OMM overreaction

Not for me to go on about, but REALLY giving a damm ALL THE TIME about our guys seems like something non-a$$holes will appreciate.

I notice from "reactions" that there are several such give-a-damm overreaction-folks on IE.

Well I’m still putting my money on him returning next year. I’ll just pretend he’s Mormon and went on a two year mission and will return bigger and more mature and ready to dominate. Another one of my “out there” takes but someone out there is hoping. Will it ruin my year ahead if he moves on to a life that isn’t playing football? No but would like to see him pursue his dream. I’ll throw some prayers on it.

He has played 2 games right in 3 years? I wish him a speedy recovery, but i think it would be fools gold to think he is ready to go. Has he finished his rehab? Not to mention that OL is such a power position and you would think that will take him some time to build back up as well.

Sad to say, but I think it's foolish to think he'll play another snap ever again. He's graduating either this winter or spring so he'll have a tremendous degree to fall back on.
