I believe th ref may have been confused and saw a spiking of the football as the motions were similar, which is a penalty.

Big reason why the NFL doesn’t scare me nearly as much as OSU does. Don’t think his coaching style fits the pro game, he could never get away with that there

I keep missing the replay of the celebration, but I haven't seen what's different from that and lots of other celebrations that happen every day. I mean, J Love humped the endzone against USC and we loved it (because it was J Love and he was good enough to do whatever tf he wanted) - but still, I guess I just hate when refs insert themselves into the game in any way with discretionary penalties like that. Just lame.
