Sounds like Fitzgerald is trying to get a coordinator spot at ND. Using the old Lou Holtz, pump up the opposition strategy. Or he may know he’s out manned, we’ll see.

I've been back and forth early this week between "we should murder Sparty" (we should) and "this will be Sparty's super bowl and we need to be prepared for a Wisconsin-like brawl in the first half.

Never in my lifetime have we been close to favored by 4 TDs against MSU. It's insane just how talented/deep this roster is compared to the "norm" I've grown accustomed to over 25 years of fandom.

And obviously Sparty is down historically, but I do expect them to be at the very least near Wisconsin's level. I'd probably pick Wisconsin by a TD on a neutral field, hypothetically.

FEI has Wisconsin 43, Sparty 55. SP+: MSU 60, Wiscy 66. FPI: MSU 53, Wiscy 56.

2 ranked teams vs G5 opposition
Oklahoma vs New Mexico
Missouri vs Troy

"Blue blood" vs FCS
Nebraska vs North Dakota

And a further 9 P4 teams at home vs G5 opposition. Texas vs UTSA is a bigger favorite by only one point.

It looks like the wind won't be a factor, which is generally a bigger problem for passing games than a wet ball. So we got that going for us, which is nice.

A crazy stat:

- PFF has ND facing only 15 “true pass sets”. Basically pass rush opportunities that take out 3 man rushes, play action, screens, and throws under 2 seconds.

Even with a run heavy offense for MSU, they might face that amount or more in just this game. I think this game is a coming out party for the DEs
