Yeah, I don't know why we're talking about Top 5 being the only worthy teams. In the short 12 team playoff era we had #5 and #6 (Us) playing for the championship, and last year it was #1 vs. #10, and there's a strong chance we would have been in the mix again for the championship at #11 or #12 if we didn't get shafted. If they go to 16 or more who cares, the pretenders get weeded out which includes any over-ranked trash.

There is so much more parity in the NIL era that the arbitrary 12 teams + conference championship games is arguably the worst setup. I also generally disagree with the premise many have about "devaluing" the regular season because every game still matters vs "just give up on your season at loss #2." The fine line to me is more about the fact that you could have a 5 round playoff with a 12 week regular season and that's a bit whack. The length of the playoff itself is what is going to kill regular season ratings.

I’m not arguing either of those points tho,…. I simply said it’s stupid we are here talking about the 20th ranked team getting a title shot. I guess we shouldn’t call these mega conferences, nfl players coming back and endless transfers dumb either bc,… ‘get used to it.’
