Not the first quote that comes to mind from that movie but appreciate the reference. Charles Dutton's monologue is it for me.

just went to a late show tonight with a buddy and saw toy story 5 and would highly recommend it if you like the other four movies as woody reunites with the old gang

Toy Story 1 and 3 are elite.

2 was mediocre.

4 was ok.

I will watch 5, as Toy Story IP is collectively belonging to those of us born between 85-93ish.

Was at the opposite end of the movie spectrum and re-watched Fight Club last night.

Saw Young Washington, thought it was very good
My father in law heard I took his daughter without him and he told me today if I don’t take him to see it he will take back his daughter, all jokes aside I couldn’t have that so I saw it again today,… lol still good on a second viewing. First movie I saw twice in theaters in at least ten years

Saw the Odyssey
I'll admit I'm a movie snob and don't care for manistream movies and castings

I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie that was so good, yet so over casted lol. Nolan really needs to spread out the wealth. That movie should be A list Odysseus. B list telemachus and Penelope. Then introduce supporting cast.

The Deus ex machina role of Zendaya Athena was silly. Ellen Paiges character, not needed. Etc etc actually enjoyed Lupita, but only gets 4 lines or so? Silliness. But still good. Just could have been a masterpiece

Watched several 50's Sci-Fi "B" movies over the weekend. Most of them are so bad they're entertaining. You see a lot of actors who are just starting their careers but became well known later on.
it's so weird to see Leslie Nielsen as someone not the Naked Gun.

Different strokes, perhaps, but I thought that Ellen Page's character - who did not appear in The Odyssey as written but rather in the Aeneid - and the ways that Athena and Odysseus interacted elevated it from an epic adventure movie (which it was) to something more deeply human.

It has been 30 years or so since I read The Odyssey but I don't remember the notion that Odysseus viewed his greatest achievement - the Trojan Horse - as a betrayal of the code of his civilization, the beginning of its downfall, and the reason he was actually in no hurry to get home. Which is pretty powerful idea, and one that was spelled out in no small part through those two characters. His lie to someone who saw him as a father figure. And his use of Athena to deceive the Trojans.

I'll grant it was prob overcasted - even third-tier characters were name-brand actors - but whatever. And I am not a movie snob. I might get to the theater once a year. But when I do I want to see a movie like that.

Obsession is incredible. Inde Navarrette is going to be a superstar. She would get nominations for her performance if it wasn’t horror.
My kids loved it. I watched it and didn’t have the same opinion. The scene where Navarrette’s character bashes the other girls‘ face w/ a brick looked phony as hell. I didn’t realize Andy Richter had a role in the movie until after the fact.

I haven’t seen too many folks get their face slammed into a brick repeatedly by a possessed psychopath but I thought the crew did a decent job considering the film budget was allegedly under $1MM. You should check out the recent Aussie film Bring Her Back if you you’d like to see some real cringe inducing body horror. It takes a lot to make my skin crawl a little since I’ve seen a ridiculous amount of horror movies but that one has its moments, check it out if you have a chance.

I also saw the Odyssey and thought it was very good. The dialogue can get corny/clunky, but overall it deserves the hype

Yeah the Odyssey was good, not sure it was for me but I enjoyed it for the most part. I appreciated the fact that it wasnt just CGI every second and filmed on actual locations. Felt like an actual movie
