Some thoughts.

-Overall numbers/spots: The offense takes 12 - QB, RBx2, WR/TEx4 - I know other threads have brought up the maybe Coleman, Jones and done at WR, but if they miss on Howard at TE, I don’t see them stopping with just 2 pass catchers with Gayles, Gregory, McAfee, Yancy options - OLx5 pending Simien/Starcevic. The defense takes 14 - DLx6, LBx3, DBx5. + LS is a class size of 27. Last year‘s class had 17 on O, 11 on D, and 2 ST for 30. 2 year totals of 29 on O, 25 on D, 3 ST for 57 or about 54% of a 105 man roster.

-Front 7 on D. O’Neil and Irvin currently with Vaughn and Folorunsho days away. Then get 5/9 of Parks, Muhammad, Fakatou, Sesay, Emedobi, Henderson, Igwebuike, Glover, Fox.

NT - Parks
DT - Folorunsho, Muhammad
DT/SDE - O’Neil, Fakatou
DE - Sesay, Vaughn
EDGE/OLB - Emedobi, Igwebuike, Fox
MLB/OLB - Irvin, Henderson, Glover

I can see with the size question I posted on the Parks profile where if Muhammad wants in, coaches take him, and maybe Fakatou is more valuable from a “best available” due to size and position flex than Parks and he loses his spot.

I also can see if they got 6 DL of Folo, Muhammad, Fakatou, O’Neil, Sesay, Vaughn but missed on Henderson - the LB board may include Emedobi and a spot comes to Emedobi/Fox if they close on Igwebuike and keep Irvin (Missouri is chasing him?)

Taking an updated "stab" at the 2027 class based on recent developments and the way players seem to be trending. As always, this is just for fun and will inevitably change as the board evolves...

QB: Champ Monds
RB: Lathan Whisenton
RB: Isaiah Rogers
WR: Julius Jones Jr
WR: Jackson Coleman
WR: Osani Gayles OR TE: Malik Howard
TE: Titus Hawk
OL: Olu Olobubola
OL: Layton von Brandt
OL: James Halter
OL: Richie Flanigan
DE: Aidan O'Neil
DE: Abraham Sesay
DE: Jackson Vaughn
DT: David Folorunsho
DT: Xavier Muhammad
LB: Amarri Irvin
LB: Roman Igwebuike
CB: Xavier Hasan
CB: Ace Alston
NB: John Gay
S: Zayden Gamble
S: Tavares Harrington
LS: Sean Kraft

Guys that ND continues to recruit until the bitter end and will take no matter what...

This class, including Gayles but not Howard or the bottom 4, would be a 306 on the 247 calculator w only 24 commits. Lmao.

That’s WITH Monds and Vaughn at their current low 4 star composite scores and Coleman as a low 3 star. If you swamped Monds / Vaughn with guys ranked at 50 overall and Coleman with a fringe 4 star, that’s a 312.8 on 247, which would be the best class since 2024 UGA. Insane.

That class is pretty realistic and that is absolutely insane. I would feel like it missed out if they do not get at least one of those bottom 4 players you mentioned.

Henderson is a beauty.... Obviously Miami, Florida and Texas A&M are going to battle this one out until the bitter end along with ND. What a pull he would be though.

Love seeing ND be aggressive here. Try to land one of Fox or Igwebuike and to ensure you get 2 LBs, then full court press Henderson until national signing day, regardless of his commitment status between now and then.

Jumped to the #3 class on 247 with Olu, behind Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Oklahoma has 19 commits (we have 15). Texas A&M is also killing it no way around it.

We're currently 11th in player average rating. Last year we finished 6th. Have some ground to make up but this is a step in the right direction.

5* DT on Friday will help.
4* LVB maybe tomorrow will help

LS will always hinder those numbers, regardless of him being the #1 rated LS

I forgot what service it is, but once you get like 18 commits, they cut off the bottom for the average star rating

I don’t think anyone is catching Texas A&M this year and that’s fine. ND finished finished 2nd last year to USC and is on par for another top 3 class in 2027. I do believe this truly, for the first time in my adult fandom; ND has the best coaching staff in the country, even with the Mickens departure. Seider is elite, Partridge is elite, Freeman is elite, Denbrock and Rudolph teeter on that line, Ash came on incredibly strong last year and has a history of being an elite DC, BJM and Henry are very well respected across the country and have recruiting and developmental accolades, Biagi is creative and gives us an edge in ST……

You give that coaching staff consistent top 5 talent, we’re getting a ‘ship before 2030.
