When it comes to OL and DL I just find the money. If Marcus Freeman has to get an extra job as a male stripper on the weekends to pay for it personnally, get it done.
If it means taking 2 WRs instead of 3 in this class, 2 LBs instead of 3 and 4 secondary players instead of 5, but you wind up with the following, I do it every single time. Marcus Freeman says he wants to be a program driven by his OL and DL, this is him putting the program's money where his mouth is...

1. Regardless of what Dabo thinks, money isn't infinite at ND and has to be prioritized or you couldn't recruit anyone else.
2. At some point guys look at your class vs the classes at other top end schools and say "the path to playing there earlier is more wide open".
ND will eventually have to let some top end guys go in favor of others. In other cases some top end guys will just find the class crowded and commit elsewhere. Great problem to have!

The fun is that the backend is also already loaded (from a defensive perspective).
Unless Halter gets a big bump I don't see how we have a viable path to 3.

This is not an "or" situation. Totally different types of players, and ND will go after both.

They will. And I agree that they are different. The question will be about timing of their respective commitments and the funds it would take to land both. Paying one MIGHT leave ND short on cash to pay the other if Vaughn, Folorunsho and Parks or Muhammad are already in the class along with O'Neil by time they decide.

If your only bringing in 2 LBs then you'd better have this haul of OL/DL maybe minus Simien who I think we just finish as runner ups. No circumstance do you take just Coleman and 1 "other" WR unless it was Easton or Sales, even then I think you need another.

I don't follow recruiting as closely as I used to, but admittedly, it's hard to not get sucked back in when so many OL/DL guys in the Top 100 are in on ND. I was piggybacking off of MeanGreenBean's post. Is that class a pipe dream? Again, since I'm just now dipping my toes back in the recruiting pools, I'm not up on the scenarios. Quick glance seems like ND is in prime position though, yes?

It is all so interesting. Olu Olu is going to force some OL to decide now. DL guys could miss out for not committing. But we are getting maulers and dudes
