I would be interested to know what has been happening behind the scenes? Did Notre Dame use Jaxon Dollar/Abraham Sessay money and up their NIL offer?

He looks like a Left tackle to me. Totally comfortable in pass protection with no panic at all in his footwork

NJ Catholic HS 5 star players gotta be the most attainable via bags in CFB history right? It would bode well for ND now they have the NIL advantage
How dare you imply Michigan was anything other than 100% squeaky clean in securing the commitments of Jabrill Peppers and Rashan Gary!

Is Sessay no longer an option?

I have no insider info. But the idea was floated the other day about using Sessay money elsewhere, because they already have O’Neill and, most likely, Vaughn committed.

I would still recruit Sessay and push hard for him. But I wouldn’t be shocked if the staff was like “or should we use this money on a 5 star OT?”

The more likely scenario is that Notre Dame is a school with more money than they know what to do with, and they’re aggressively going after the guys that they want.

I believe he is very much still an option and ND still leads, PSU is pushing and trying to get back in on him. I think the expectation from the fan side was that he would commit by now but he is expected to take his officials. Once Folorunsho and Vaughn are in the boat I could see a scenario where he shuts it down so as to not lose out on a spot. I think there is a scenario where they get a verbal from Fakatou first and Sesay is the odd man out but not the other way around. Based purely on my own opinion.

Power hour referred to this the other day. They really think along the DL there's going to be guys pressured to commit because if they don't they won't have a spot

I'd actually rather have Sesay than Fakatou.

I wouldn't due to having two stud DEs in 2026, O'neal who I don't think is a foregone conclusion to go inside, and Jackson Vaughn is basically in the bag. I'd rather have Fakatou.

It's not my money, sign them all if you can. Just have to assume tough conversations on the money allocated for certain players are had and that it's finite so choices have to be made. Then again, it's a new day. Maybe ND's money isn't finite.

We’re having conversations about turning away a 5 star DE. Lmao.

It does sound crazy. Is it possible Notre Dame was working in the weeds for Olu for a while? Absolutely. But usually when there’s a dramatic, overnight shift in recruiting, it is because of money.

Not per ISD, staff is surprised.

The beat is clueless for the most part. They’re not used to the ND staff being this good and workmanlike behind the scenes. Feels like they just throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks so they can get their clicks and subscribers.

As much as I want Olu Olu and Simian you can't take them over elite DL talent that ND has had a hard time recruiting over the years if it comes down to either or.

That said I want those 2 really bad and IMO they are 2 of the 3 best OL in the '27 class with the other being Hiller and followed by Mark Matthews then gap between the next best.

I have to agree here (if it's one or the other). The staff has a chance to pull one of the most insane DL classes ever. We've never been here before, and we need to capitalize.
