Win the Natty and you can do whatever you like. Your legacy and place at ND will be secure forever.
Have a crack at the NFL boss.

I think hes bought into the school enough that hes not going to gut the place on his way out.

Gonna be a hard sell to an NFL team as a HC who missed the playoffs the year prior and didn't do some serious damage in them in 2026.

I like the motivation.

Notre Dame Man.

He said they were taking bets at dinner. So while he did say it would be people who would know it’s not like he was reporting this would happen. It was I said X years, he said Y years, they said after 2026 would be their bet.
This^

as far as LAX’s question about not knowing what jobs will be open, they were all in agreement that the NFL is his next stop and we know the NFL fires HC more often than the SEC, so that’s a lot of opportunities for teams to come calling.

Why is Tim even sharing that?
I’m literally listening to that very dialogue right now as I scroll serendipitously,… it was a response to a listener Q,… ‘why does everyone think he’s bound for the league? Why can’t he just be here for ten years?’ The answer was he could be here but those in the know just FEEL the league is an easier/higher paying job,… and he had a dinner where those types placed bets and only two out of a dozen had him here past next year.

It was just a story and spit balling

Also on the same pod the crew came pretty close to burying PB for his response to all this,… maybe didn’t go all the way in but leaned heavily

What kind of bet is that? You either get the next 12 months or the rest of Marcus Freeman’s life? Lol

That part of the pod really sounded like a bunch of second guessing, whiney, forum posters. I thought their response to PB was worse than anything PB actually did/said.

It's easier, but for someone who has never coached a down in the NFL I doubt it's higher paying than what we'd be paying him. You also have less control over your operation. Freeman seems like he likes to have control.

Given the rate of CFB coaches that fail in the NFL vs those who succeed, I'd question if it's easier.

That was my wording,… they meant in terms of commitment, time and grind

Yeah, I like Brice, but the II guys are losing me. They talked about Aneyas Williams transferring as a certainty all season. Still could happen, but he did publicly disavow it.
Exactly how I feel too...those guys are becoming harder and harder to listen to. For the last month they've let all this anti-ND stuff get into their heads. They should go to Cancun and unwind a little.

It definitely won't pay more than what Freeman's making or will be making at ND. At least, not for his first deal in the NFL. If he has success, sure, but the top tier of college HCs get paid very well compared rookie NFL coaches.

And while the NFL might be easier in terms of the year around grind, every coach in League is on borrowed time. If Belichik can get fired from NE, any coach can get fired in the NFL, that's why it stands for "Not For Long." At ND, short of some sort of misconduct, he'll never get fired and he'll win big.

If he really wants the League, well you can't hold him, but it's not really a better job than being a HC at a blue blood.

Just for talking point’s sake what is our move if Freeman moves on? Who could we go after?

I will eat crow if I am wrong, but none of this worries me.

ND and college football are in a very different place than ten years ago. Seriously, how many jobs across CFB and NFL are better than ND? 2? 3? When OSU opens up, I will wet the bed.

Freeman's not moving on. But if for some unfortunate and unforeseen reason we were in immediate need of a coach, I think the first calls are Lea, Elko, DeBoer, maybe Jeff Brohm. Could we grab an NFL coach? (LeFleur?) We pay more.

He publicly stated this after a game or two of more action. Also, what is he supposed to say..."yea I'm out"

Maybe I’m just getting more pissed as the week goes on the more I think about this and NO ONE in the media is demanding answers from the committee.

They opened the podcast basically saying Pete shouldn’t have doubled down on the playoff talk because it’s done and over with. They seemed so dismissive and accepting of it all.

HELLO. This is your golden opportunity to do some digging and ask some fucking questions that we all want answered.

Why is a guy that wrote a book about ND have to recuse himself but not sitting AD’s that make money if their conference is represented?

Where’s the corruption lie within the committee? Brice admitted on the pod there was backdoor lobbying going on. WHO AND HOW?

Is the pop tart rep call into the Mad Dog Show real that claimed Jim Phillips acknowledged the ACC would be in with Duke winning? That’d be great to find out.

Why did Brice believe Duke winning BEFORE conference championship weekend would result in Miami being in? He was right, but why. Who made the call?

Why hasn’t Hunter Yurachek or anyone on the committee done a single interview since?

What happened Sunday is completely unacceptable for college football and as ND beat writers they should be foaming at the mouth to uncover what the hell happened.

People + Money - transparency - accountability = corruption every. single. time.
