Seems like we may be able offer those things, depending on how the young safeties look this fall. Could McQuay be a corner for us?

His dad says he can play corner but all the services say his greatest upside is at safety.

We will have 8 safeties on the roster next year barring any position changes.

(Collinsworth, Badger, Hardy, Farley, Shumate, Prosise, Baratti, and Turner.)

Important note here- of the three, Notre Dame is the only school he hasn't visited yet, so I'm OK with being #3 right now. I'm sure things will change once he makes it up for a visit (presumably sometime in May).

Well, I really think we are not actually running third, despite what the dad says, because when the UF 247 reporter interviewed the son this week he apparently didn't mention us at all.

GITF, true that we'll have a lot of safeties on the roster next year, but depending on what happens with some of the young guys this fall it may be that at the end of 2012 none but Collinsworth will have gotten any significant playing time in their careers. So I could see Leon III seeing an opportunity to come in and compete for early playing time. On the other hand, it may also turn out that Shumate or Hardy or others look like studs this fall and McQuay will be scared off.

Unfortunately, I share your opinion. I don't think we are a real threat there.

If Florida gets him, Tunsil, and Hargraves, wow. They would have pretty much cleaned up the entire state from FSU and Miami.

I know it's not from a lack of effort by the staff or anything like that I just thought we were in better shape. Of coarse I thought for sure Agholar was ours last year. Shows what I know.

You let Irish2015 cloud your judgment on that one. It was always an uphill climb with Agholor.


As for McQuay, he told Michigan 247 that he is being recruited very hard by Michigan but Notre Dame and Clemson were recruiting him the hardest.
