what always gets me about videos like that are how many people are playing some form of guitar yet I always only hear a couple... there are like ten guys playing there... I certainly don't hear ten

I've often wondered the same thing. I can only assume that someone in charge of engineering the final product decides which feeds are "up" and which are "down" at any given time in the mix. I imagine that much is decided in rehearsal and preproduction.

I really didn't catch any of George Thorogood's distinctive guitar sound (he was in there), though he might have been asked to "tone it down" for the set. It ain't easy producing a coherent finished product with so many variables.

sitting up tonight listening to Tron Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk on my bose around-the-ear headphones at max volume... It's the closest I'll ever come to actually being pure electricity.
If you at all like this style of music... get this album immediately, I'm going to to link this video but just know when I listened to it compared to the quality I'm getting off the cd I almost wept. It's a world of difference between what this song is on youtube and what it's like on the cd.
