Thanks, kmoose. You sent me on A Tull Trip. I saw them at ND in '72. They played stuff from Stand Up, Benefit, and Aqualung along with the as yet unreleased (in The States at least) Thick As A Brick. I was blown away – though I was admittedly stoned out of my gourd at the time – and wondered what "Brick" would be like when carved into individual tracks for an LP. Luckily it wasn't. The magnum opus can be found here: Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick - YouTube . It runs close to 44 minutes so I won't embed it in respect to short attention spans and limited band width.

Put on the spot in my music appreciation class, I said Hendrix was my fav artist (probably not true, but he is one of my favs) and then I was asked to give my favorite Hendrix song and you guessed it, this was my response. I didn't want to say something that everyone knew because had I, I'd have looked like a poser and we (the royal we) can't have that. This is a great song though and rather comical. lol

This time of the year is tough on the old Alamo...lost some close family members this time of the year...To be totally honest they both lost their way in life and put an end to it prematurely...

This song hits me deep...and I recommend it to anyone who has lost someone they care about very much to suicide or a drug overdose or anything along those lines.

Hayes wrote it about a friend of his who died of a drug overdose. College buddy IIRC.
