Back to topic, I am really excited about another commitment. We've needed a boost and maybe this is it.

Time will tell its story, but I'm not worried about this class at all.

When you have 13 commits or so this early, you have nothing to look forward to and only people to lose, in my humble opinion.

The two players we have committed are exceptions, because both are the kind of guys that I would hope the coaches found a scholarship for late, no matter whom we had signed, and I think Kelly is really having these guys think things over before they commit. This bodes well for the class and the program.

This is not just any commit.

I can list five reasons why this guy is special for ND.

5) He is a top247 from the Columbus area.

4) He has a much more agressive/competitive feel to him than any other Columbus area recruit we have been looking at.

3) Position flexibility, TE, DE, OLB, he can grow to where he belongs, and he has the speed to play any!

2) He always wanted to be at Notre Dame, since he was a kid.

1) He took his time, at the coaching staff's behest, and made his decision. This is where he wants to be, even if it is not the position he wanted to play.

Getting commitments along the trenches is a good way to start building this class

On The Trail Blog - ESPN

“The campus is top notch, and he’s a Catholic school product so Notre Dame has been in the forefront of his life,” Bishop Hartley coach Brad Burchfield said.

It's a dream come true.

Positions include TE, DE, OLB

As a DE who does he remind you guys of? He remids me of Hounshell coming out.

Boom.

Solid pickup.

Hounshell from a mold standpoint. Could be a bit faster with less brute force.

Interested to see if he has Chase's mean streak.

Awesome news on the commitment! Its hard to say who he reminds me of because his film showed him playing almost all offense. He looks really strong at the point of attack and very nimble for a big guy.

I honestly thought watching his film that he'd make a great guard. Lucky for us though is that he is flexible and an athletic freak. Could end up anywhere. We're prob going to be seeing a lot of players like him in this class. Big Skill.

Are you just making these up as you go? Haha

Yes and no. Yes this is my independent opinion; No, I have a list of five things, that came to me rather quickly, others have echoed them. Brilliant minds must think alike.

Great news. Always good to have another guy on board, especially one who's of the "street fighting" type. Always need tough guys.

Jacob Matuska is a “street-fight football player” according to his Columbus (Ohio) Bishop Hartley head coach Brad Burchfield.

Welcome aboard Jacob! Glad to have you.

Clearly, the staff really likes him, and he really likes ND so I'd say this is a match made in heaven.
