I may be wrong here, but it seems like we've been mishandling some of these OL recruitments for the 13 class. Either slow playing kids or not giving them enough attention, whatever. I obviously have no clue what is really going on behind the scenes, but I will trust that Kelly is doing the right thing.

Anyone know how Hiestand is as a recruiter? I'm sure it's been posted around here but I can't seem to remember for some reason.

Regardless, if OSU leads for this kid, and he grew up an OSU fan, I get the feeling Urban will be difficult to beat here.

LOL wonder if Urban did something like "if you go to ND's junior day we're pulling your offer... commit now or lose it."

It's weird having so many coaches in the midwest with an axe to grind against ND. Urban, Mattison, Warriner, Fitzgerald.... lot of sharks.

On the ESPN recruiting page under insider I saw this

ugh. ESPN.

“As soon as Ohio State offered, I knew they were at the top,” Lisle said shortly after making his commitment. “I’ve always been a Buckeyes fan. I went down for a visit a month ago, and I loved everything about it. I loved all the coaches, the academics are special.

Started building his relationship with Warriner at Notre Dame. Likes him a lot and says he's one of the best Oline coaches in the country.

It was important for his family to watch him play for the team they always root for.

ND can still bring in a great OL haul themselves.

Don't hold your breath on this......the way this staff is losing top OL to other schools, this is going to end up looking like a UC offensive line. Will be decent but won't hold up against the big boys.

Elmer, Bivin, McGlinchey, Pocic, I still think we have a great shot at Bosch.

There is a ton of OL talent this year. More than I remember typically.

Not worried at this stage

If by chance we only have 1 or 2 OL two days before NSD for the 13 class then i will be upset but until then just take a deep breath

Everyone knew OSU and MICH were gonna be threats. On to the next one. We still are in it for a lot of different OLs. There is no writing ND off yet. I'm glad Lisle decided now rather than later so we can focus on other players.

But it's true. We were his second choice.

From Bucknuts:
“Once I got that offer, I felt confident it was the choice for me,” Lisle said. He chose Ohio State over his second choice Notre Dame. “I feel like I’ve made the right decision.”

I'll feel a lot better if we pull in Bivin this weekend. I wish we had offers out to a few more OL. I think we want to sign four OL this year (maybe even 5), but right now Bivin, McGlinchy and Pocic seem to be the only guys besides Elmer who aren't at least leaning another way. Landing them all might be too much to hope. Still a long way to go though, and I'm sure more offers will come.

These Ohio kids can be impossible to take away from OSU. It sounds like OSU was just in Lisle's blood.

Edit: forgot McGovern. By all accounts we have a good shot at him too, although he has a heavy visit schedule planned.
