TV trivia:

What star pictured it this thread was drafted professionally in three sports?

What show was Paladin on?

What was the name of 60's superhero Van's assistant, a famous artist in his own right?

And what major film character shared and assistant with the same name, that just started with a different letter?

I know the answer to #1, Chuck Connors, aka the rifleman dodgers first baseman and i believe boston celtics, and chicago bears although he never suited up for the bears. dude was 6'8"

It's a talk show and not a series but when I was little, it was a big deal if we could stay up with the adults to watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

What show was Paladin on? Have Gun will Travel, Richard Boone had a business card that featured a chess knight, or a paladin.

What was the name of 60's superhero Van's assistant, a famous artist in his own right? Van Johnson played the Green Hornet in the Batman spinoff Green Hornet, and as mentioned Kato was played by Bruce Lee; funny story about Bruce Ward (Robin) acting tough to impress the women, and having the entire cast convince him that Bruce Lee is waiting to kick his ***.

And what major film character shared and assistant with the same name, that just started with a different letter? Who had a movie sidekick named Cato?
I give up on all of the questions. Who were they?

I can remember coming home in between two-a-day football practices and watching re-runs of the white shadow..then having to go back for the 2nd practice...that was a long time ago

I can't embed pics, so I'll just post the theme lyrics to this show:

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

Classic!

Correct, I realy effed up. Shows my advanced age and senility creeping in. What were we talking about? But everything else is correct. Any takers on Cato? Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther series as (Chief) Inspector Jacques Clouseau.

Anybody name two (war) movies Van Johnson was in ?

Cartman gets an anal probe is one of the finest series premieres ever!

Who could ever forget such lines as: "The bastards, they killed Kenny!" Or, "How come everything in this episode is either going in to, or coming out of my ***?"

Seriously...only two?

"By war's end, I'd been in every branch of the service, all at MGM."
-- VJ, commenting on the vast number of soldiers he played on film during WWII.

The Caine Mutiny
Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo
^ two of the most well known
