I just checked FSU's current recruiting class and they have zero CB commits. There might be some truth to Darby not liking the CB competition.

There are so many rumors flying around the internet about all the top prospects that none of us can separate the facts from the bullshyte. Even the recruiting gurus routinely pass on third hand "inside" info or read too much into a quote (often taking it out of context).

If Darby will agree to an in-home prior to signing day, then our chances aren't too bad, maybe even 50/50. If he doesn't...then obviously there is very little reason for optimism. At this point nobody can say for sure and anybody who claims to know, is either lying or delusional. Even Darby himself does not know. He could go to bed tonight thinking he is going to commit to FSU and tomorrow some things might happen which shake his confidence and by the time he goes to bed tomorrow night he might be totally down on FSU. These things happen every year and until Ronald Darby faxes in a signed LOI, nobody (I would suggest even Ronald Darby himself) can be 100% certain.

We have to accept that Darby didn't and doesn't want to come to ND. He wants to be more wooed. And we must not have wooed(sp?). Jimbo must have really put on the after burners on him.

And us blowing it against FSU really hurt us here. Those flipping 2 interceptions in the endzone killed us. Time to move on past Darby, good kid and great skills--wish he was Irish but looks to not want to be here.

I am optimistic that an elite high school prospect can see through the questionable QB play in a 4 point game to see the promise and fire of this defense and the potential of the offense to catch up with the loads of talent on D. Between Golson, Kiel, and Hendrix we will find success.

Darby will end up where he wants to end up. ND will be just as good in the short term as any of the schools he is considering.

You could say the same thing about FSU. They've killed it the last 3 years in terms of recruiting. And the big thing.... they won the bowl game. Hate the Semenoles, but they are likely bigger underacheivers than ND.... They started out 2011 top 5 I think.... If coaching catches up, and team starts clicking,,,, watch out....
