No one is trumpeting anything. Poole flipping has legs. Rumor is that he did not enjoy his OV to Florida as much as he expected. His parents are both in ND's corner. He said the visit with Alford was the "best yet." Kelly has an in-home this week. Alford is keeping the pressure on. This is textbook flipping procedure.

Just have to make Brian believe it.

I am not doubting that there is a rumor that his OV didn't go well, but how does that even happen? Especially for a kid that is already committed to that school? Were they showing too much love to Howard instead of him? Everything written publicly is pro-gator, like this:

Gotcha. From reading Florida boards it does seem like they are a little concerned about the way his dad talks but it is not out in the open that much because Brian continues to say he is all gator and isn't going anywhere.

Kind of but not quite the same. Darby always said he was still committed but put those subtle hints in there that he was still looking around.

After his Auburn visit:

Darby has already visited Notre Dame and Maryland and is unsure if he’ll go on anymore officials. For now, he remains committed to Notre Dame but has not closed the door entirely on other schools.

“The interest is good. I really like (Auburn). I was just going to really check it out,” he said.

“...The thought will still probably be there a little bit, but I’m still decided on where I’m going. The closer and closer it gets you have to really make sure that’s the place you really want to be.”

After Maryland visit:

Ermann asked Darby about his status following the trip to Byrd Stadium.

"Yeah," he replied in reference to whether he was still committed to the Irish, "as of right now."

I don't know....considering what happened, I'd have to say he might be outta the picture with a lot of schools.

Football should be Yuri's LAST concern right now....

IMO, something is obviously going on, or the Pooles wouldn't be hosting us two weeks before NSD.

It sounds to me like Poole loves the Gators and would love to play for his childhood favorite. The questions are (1) does he feel like he fits in better with the ND guys value-wise and (2) is ND more in-line with what he and his family have decided that they want out of college.

Florida is clearly the easier choice, ND would require stepping out of his comfort zone.

We would obviously take both if they wanted to come, it would be really stupid if we didn't. But I think if Pool joins then we are completely out of it with Darby, which I am fine with

My gut tells me we aren't in it for either of them.

But my heart tells me there is a reason why Poole keeps hosting coaches......

We are definately in it for Poole. We have to believe that Kelly will get him to flip.

Even if we swing and miss on Poole, I think we get Standifer and he is a solid player

Oh I'm not....I said we need another CB.....Standifer I have no numbers on. And he's got a 3 star ranking. We're talking the difference between game changers(4 and 5 stars) such as Darby, Poole and Yuri...and then there is the Standifers.

Not saying he won't be good, but I'd love to land one of the other ones.

It's not that simple. He runs a 4.6 40, a 4.4 shuttle, and has a 30'' vertical; those are better combine numbers than Tee Shepard produced. He lacks a 4th mainly due to the level of competition he plays against and infrequent appearances in the 7-on-7 tournaments.
