As of Tuesday! With Tee!!!

On Darby, he is a stud. And would be an impact here. And I want him Irish really bad. 2 Shutdown Corners!!!!!! Sick.

But, I feel Darby has been looking to leave since committing. I just have a bad feeling that he may have used us as leverage.

I think he wanted to be wooed. And wants something different.

Oh well, I feel we have very little chance at him now. Time to find other CB's to load up.

Go Irish!

I'm sorry if I'm late to the party here, but where did the above info come from? Are these direct quotes/paraphrases from Tee himself or something?

He doesn't need leverage, any program would take him. Track has gained importance in the last few weeks.

I personally think that track is being used as a scapegoat. It is really more of a sport that is predicated on individual success. As I recall both Rocket Ismail and Allen Rossum really excelled at track while on football scholarship here.

DB Ronald Darby of Oxen Hill, MD will not take any more visits his coach Donnell Douglas said Wednesday. Darby had looked at taking a visit to Clemson this coming weekend but is set on his final three of Auburn, Florida State and Notre Dame. The Tigers and Seminoles are the top two with him according to Douglas. Darby visited Florida State last weekend.

here

Where have I heard this before, think, think, think. I got it. Tuitt's coach last year. Next thing you know, there will be rumors that Darby's coach has been offered a coaching job at FSU.

Here is my problem with the article. The information is from his coach and not Darby. Darby had an in-home visit with Alford and Diaco the day before it was written. Who knows what day the writer talked to the coach? Was it before or after the in-home visit? With two of our best recruiters talking to Darby, that could have made the difference ask Lynch and Ishaq.

Not to mention, this is all coming from a pretty obscure site (goupstate.com) and isn't being reported by ANY of the recruiting sites. You would think that they would jump on info like that. I just don't buy it. Not even a little bit.

Not to mention the article states he ain't be taking anymore visits, not that he wouldn't be receiving anymore visits in house.

Was this his head coach talking? I don't recall his head coach's name offhand and I'm not in a position to look it up right now, but I don't recall this being the head coach's name. As I recall, his head coach was the one handling the interviews last spring and summer.

Same coach he was arguing with at the UA game?

Isn't that guy the Maryland homer?

I recall his HC's last name being something like Crump, but can't easily look it up right now. I don't recall if this 'Douglas' guy was the assistant who was taking him for visits with his teammates last summer and indicating/implying that he was open, whereas his Football HC (who I am pretty certain was named Crump) was saying that Ronald was solid to Notre Dame and just helping his teammates get some exposure to other schools.

If the recruit is saying it, and in an unedited audio/video clip, I'll believe. Most of the rest of the stuff that gets quoted brings out the cynic in me, unless the source has a good track record.

Yeah, this is pretty much my recollection as well. I was thinking along the lines of Chaump, and I recall his comments being pretty positive toward ND as well. Just curious since he had been somewhat vocal with the media in the past and I haven't seen anything from him lately.

Yeah. Watch, this Douglas guy will end up being Darby's "Mentor" or "Uncle" and taking a job at FSU as an assistant coach.

Ugggghhhh

That's not the story Lemming is telling regarding why Darby decommitted. Of course, I have no idea what Lemmings motive is in what he's saying, but it doesn't paint a good picture of how the staff handled Darby's recruitment.

How can a coach not handle a players recruiting the right way...especially a 5* freak athlete...did bk or cooks call him names? Not return calls? I don't buy this for 1 sec...everything recruits have said about our coaches and their recruiting pitches, they way they conducted themselves is what made a huge impact on the superstars we got last year and even the transfers in have said it

Lemmings is very stupid. It was probably a misunderstanding or what Tee said.

What was the significance of track as a comparative element? Isn't track an individual sport, as opposed to a team sport? The fastest man in the world could be on the ND track team and still be just as fast and win just as many competitions as he would have, had he been on the LSU track team.

I wish he had felt ND when he was there. We'd have a secondary to compliment our developing front 7.

We still will have a pretty damn impressive secondary with or without Mr. Darby

I hope he comes back, but I'm gonna cry in my beer if he doesn't

Neg rep coming in the a.m. if I wake up and there is no elaboration. Also, does anyone give credence to anything Lemming says at this point? He is universally (dis)regarded as an idiot.

I have a former ND roommate who heard it from Lemming's mouth. That's all I've got.

I have no idea whether what Lemming said was true, or what his motivation was. I do trust that my former roommate didn't make up what Lemming said.

ya know reading this board from the beginning and watchin a few of Darby's erlier intervies on Irish Illustrated...I really thought Ronald of all the recruits was the MOST solid. I'm still suprised be all of this....I hope I'm really really wrong...but I don't think we land him in the end. I'm gonna be done w/ this one until I hear something solid. Keep me in the loop ;) haha
