I'm not saying that he's a bad kid, or leadership is not needed. Just poor timing as I do think think talent wise, his ship has sailed. What I do think though is that if the offer if true, it was a product somewhat of the decommits. The drama of this week has turned in our favor, and we could see a "no vacancy" sign up before NSD. I'd still prefer to have a little room, even if it's just one to take a surprise rock star late in the game. I have no problem with extending him a 5th year after NSD if there is room.

That's how the process works. 5Y decisions are never final until after NSD. That's why all this discussion of Goodman's 5Y is somewhat premature. I'm fairly certain Goodman hasn't been promised anything by the staff.

Maybe, maybe not. What about this scenario. BK: Tyler, if I give Goody his 5th year will you stay?

I would assume that TP's statement that well be thrilled on NSD didnt include Gunner. With that in mind, I am really excited to see how this class finishes up.

Holds as much weight as this scenario. BL: Goody, if it rains tomorrow you're getting a 5th year. Complete fantasy. Tyler Eifert would not base his entire future, and pro aspirations on whether or not John Goodman got to have another unproductive year at ND or not. Sorry if that's harsh, but it's reality.

NSD 2012. Will be a GLORIOUS day. The way things are shaping up, I feel that a statement will be made by BK before spring ball/season even starts.

Wasn't trying to say his whole decision but it may have been a bargaining tool for Tyler. Regardless I don't think it has been decided yet until we finish this class off.
