As I said before this could be a perfect storm for this guy to win a Heisman or at least be one of the few Defensive players ever at the ceremony. If Notre Dame can win enough games in 2012 and if the defense continues to improve the national appeal of a Notre Dame player who has integriy could bring back what the Heisman Trophy was supposed to be. Teo could produce history. No joke this guy is enough of a player and man to get this attention. Note to the Downtown Athletic Club-have you had enough egg on your face to get back to the basics of your award. Of course we'll have to check with espn (notice small caps) to see if this is permisable. Manti Teo' would be a salve on the open sore that has become the Heisman Trophy.

very impressive for a sophomore playing on a "high school defense" Yes Kirk, i am NEVER letting that go.

Not easy to let that go, although in fairness, the Irish have really been playing much improved D compared to when the "high school" joke was made.

You know, I think Kirk did us a favor when he said that and, more than that, he knew he was doing it. He gave our D the ultimate bulletin board material. They responded. I hope their recent success doesn't dim the flame he started.

Congrats to them that is awesome. They are both very deserving. in fact, I think you could argue that they both deserve to be 1rst Team All Americans.
