The original reporting of the delay said it would be a couple days and that they were down to ND and Auburn. At least that's what I read.

Arik and Armond commit to Notre Dame so they can play together in 2012. After that Arik transfers to Cal where he wanted to go now that he got to play with his brother.

That just popped in my head as a cruel thought to myself with all the transfers we've been seeing. That would just be a sick joke. But it won't happen....it won't...it can't...crap

Get the feeling maybe the elder is pushing for ND, and maybe not the younger. Considering they will only be together for a year, and may not end up actually playing together. This is a much harder decision for Arik considering his time at his choice will be quite a bit longer than his brother who has been already graded at draft potential.

I am speculating as much as anyone on this board, no more no less. I just happened to write something contradictory to what you think and/or want. The fact that he wanted more time is not in ND's favor, this happens to ND quite a lot, other (no not all) elite recruits flipped instantly, the simplest thing would be that both announce for ND today if they liked it so much, no doubt he would have announced for Cal yesterday, etc etc etc

Not necessarily. Arik was probably set to announce for Cal yesterday until the Lupoi news turned that on his head. He may just need a day or two (and an in-home from Kelly) to definitively settle on ND. I expect both Armsteads to be Irish before the week is out.

Once Armond and Gus get home, Arik will feel the impact ND had on his father and brother. Face to face with family and seeing and feeling what they are saying changes everything and trumps all. Kelly doing a final in home brings the Armsteads to South Bend IMO.

This is kinda of where I am right now as well. If in fact BK is headed there today, I have no doubt that they will be on campus by the end of the week. I understand Auburn is a player here, but ND was always an option for Arik and there is clearly something special happening here right now. I think he will see this and want to be a part of it.
