The rumor was that they were divided by QB, not by race. There were players from both races on either side supporting who they thought should play QB in the BCS Championship.

I think it had more to do with his family's preference though. Just my opinion. I was told before he committed to LSU that his family wanted him at ND. Frankly, I was surprised that he chose LSU in the first place. I think he just got caught up with their hype and his friend's opinions of where they thought he should go. Ultimately, his family convinced him otherwise in the 11th (maybe 11:59th) hour.

Listen to one interview with Gunner and ask yourself if you think he fits in with the LSU squad? He would do well at Auburn, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, or maybe even Alabama. But LSU? It was a weird decision that, I think, was made in reaction to his initial Indiana decision.

...if he's not going to an SEC school...ESPN needs to spin it...should go something like:

1) was overrated
2) character issue

Luginbill is a douche, he said something along the lines of newsflash to the Kiel's no matter where you go there will be alot of competition. That was one of Kiel's bigger concerns but definitely not the most important. Distance played a huge part but of course Luginbill makes it sound like he was scared of competition.

I didn't hear anything about race, but I did hear trouble in the locker room because Miles didn't make a QB change to light a fire. They may have been tied together, but I wouldn't want to speculate.

My co-workers son lives in O'Neil. He's trying to keep an eye open for a sighting.

Who the heck does LSU have that would provide so much QB competition? When he was deciding between Vandy, LSU, and ND originally, everyone was saying that one of LSU's big advantages for Kiel was its lack of QB depth. Now, suddenly that changes?
