I wouldn't call it consensus. No one really knows the impact the Auburn visit had so anything is possible. But we're, at worst, a 50/50 shot right now.

I actually think the Amir Carlisle transfer to ND is going to help even more. Amir was a great kid, super talented, and a natural leader despite his young age at USC. Gave 110% every practice. Have to think it helps with Armond... and I'm assuming Amir has been on campus this weekend while Armond visited.

Or reality. The staff did a great job going after Armstead whether or not we get him, but every sign pointed towards Cal until Tosh left. Look at the fallout it's having with Cal recruits! Shaq might leave, 5-star d-lineman already left, they probably missed out on Armstead and I'm sure I'm missing somebody.

Cal lead because of locality, momentum, and Tosh. But situations change. This is what is really so impressive about this staff. They are so thorough that they are always RIGHT THERE to take advantage when the situation changes. (See Lynch, Prestwood, Hounshell, Williams, Carlisle, Kiel, etc.).

There have been some blunders, and I don't think they are the best salesmen across the board, but they have a great product and the overall effort is excellent.

It is a testmant to Martin's leadership as Rec. Coordinator and Kelly's attention to detail and vision.

Haha no matter where Arik ends up going to school, the only thing I find Blasphemous is that he didn't get a 5th star in the final Rivals Rankings. Guy is the #1 overall recruit on just about every ranking system out there, and Rivals somehow found over 30 players to rank ahead of him.

Who's arguing? It was brought up as a point of discussion about how much Amir Carlisle helped. And there's no doubt that him, the staff and their visits were huge, but IMO Tosh leaving was the clincher.

Yea, Rivals is really terrible at evaluating players. To me, you can't teach 6"8, great feet and strong like a bull. Therefore, I don't concern myself with rankings, which are purely based on opinions. I have opinions, doesn't mean it's right. Only time will tell anyways.
