I know my opinion won't be the most popular but there are a handful of guys on our board that I think are better CB prospects than Yuri. CB is a difficult position to play (possibly one of the most difficult to transition to in college) and the position where mistakes are the most noticeable. With the depletion of our secondary, I would prefer guys like Poole, Darby, Rios, Reeves, etc. because they have better technique at this point in their careers. After watching (limited) tape and all-star games, I feel they would have the best chance to contribute early and push our secondary. But don't get me wrong, Yuri's athleticism jumps off the page and his ceiling is extremely high. I wouldn't be upset by any means but I would at least like to bring in another polished corner to complement this class in the event that Yuri doesn't turn the corner.

Don't kill me, this is my opinion. I trust the staff but I just wanted to interject some life into this thread and away from our newest troll.

You call it our board. I think most others would call it our dream list. Poole is all but a UF lock; Darby is up in the air - we went from solid verbal to 1/3 finalists, without him ever have even visited the other two places (that doesn't mean we're out, but it sure as hell doesn't bode well for us); Rios shipped sailed when we slow played him and lost the gamble; Reeves isn't even close to sniffing us right now. So considering all that, who exactly is higher on our board? I would suggest no one, at that position, is.

Personally, I think Wright has a TON of upside. Look what he has been able to do in such a short time playing the position, or football at all for that matter. Kelly and gang are building a team of coachable athletic freaks. Wright fits that bill perfectly.

Does that mean his junior year was his first time ever playing organized football or just his first time at Bosco? Did he transfer there?

Wright backed up those strong claims on the field last season, racking up 45 tackles, six interceptions, and two interception returns for touchdowns. Those numbers are rendered even more impressive when one takes into account that 2010 was his first year of varsity football. Before that he put his talents to use on the hardwood. Now that he is fully committed to football, scouts and college coaches mesmerized by his combination of size and 4.45 speed are virtually oblivious to his gridiron infancy. Scout.com's team of analysts currently rate Wright the No. 5 cornerback prospect in the country and the No. 51 prospect overall. Meanwhile, more than two dozen college programs have extended scholarship offers

JC Shurburtt was on Bill King's Radio program yesterday and listed Yuri as one recruit who could pop soon. He said "It wouldn't surprise me before he (Yuri) takes that Cal visit, or if he doesn't take that Cal visit at all, to see him go ahead and make the call for the Fighting Irish."

i hope he is right and he does come to nd. I think he will be a great player in a couple of years no matter where he ends up.

I think we end the class now with Kiel, Yuri, and the Armsteads. Would be so awesome and is very likely to happen.

Supposedly people are congratulating Yuri on committing to ND on his facebook page. TIFWIW. Nothing from the II staff.

Will decide in the next 10 days. Unless he really wants to stay home I see him as Irish.

Not trying to be an @$$, but I hope there's still room by the time he decides. A LOT can happen in 10 days. Just look at the past 24 hours!

You know, even if this all falls apart, it's nice to just have some positive energy about this program right now.... I'm loving every minute of it...
