"Yuri Wright, CB Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ). Not sure whether Wright will actually be here or not. There's conflicting reports on where he'll be this weekend. Looks like h could be at Notre Dame as well. Wright is a great talent, but our interest may have cooled a bit as he didn't have the greatest senior season. He seems to have cooled on us a bit too, as Michigan, Colorado, Notre Dame and Rutgers seem to have overtaken Cal in Wright's recruitment. He has great size for a cornerback and pkenty of ability. Regardless of whether he makes it to campus this wekend or not, this is starting to look like it's not gonna happen. "

Is there any source about him considering a visit to ND this weekend?

I think Yuri did his official with Elijah a few weeks back.....again I think.

So if he decides to visit ND again then it will be an unofficial. If he does indeed do that then I would have a very optimistic view that he would give his commitment to C Kelly while he is there.

if he's visiting it'll be on his own dime, hasn't he already taken his official?

Yes he did visit. Remember there was speculation he would announce at the Army All American Bowl after his visit to ND.

Now I see that the article was written on December 16th. I didn't even look at the date because it came from a Cal site and to my knowledge, Cal JUST got involved over the weekend so I assumed it was up to date. My bad, guys.

Tuitt outplayed Lynch in a number of games last year

Yuri should understand just how good our DLine is going to be.

I agree that Tuitt has the talent to be a superstar as well. I just think Lynch will be the standout because of the way he plays.

I can see ND's defense being like Alabama's was last night, in a couple of years. Stocked full of first and second rounders. With the talent and depth of the front seven, db's have to see the opportunity for bad throws, thus leading to interceptions. Yuri hopefully see's this as well and I hope he comes to be a part of it. I think he will be an elite db wherever he plays college football. It is my hope that his choice is to be part of ND's stellar defense.

Unless ND starts over-signing, accepting JUCO transfers, pushing out underachievers, and disregarding academic standards, we will never see a defensive juggernaut like 'Bama fielded.

We can definitely put together a BCS-caliber defense without trashing our standards and values, but I'm beginning to doubt ND's ability to win another NC with the SEC fielding semi-professional defenses like that.

Their D was great all year long, but let's see what happens if/when Kirby leaves.

Remember, it was just a few years ago that everyone thought UF would be top 5 each year. A few assistants leave and cracks begin to show, no matter the talent.

Saban has a great coaching staff that is starting to be plucked. Let's wait to see wwhat happens.

I'm at that conclusion with or without the SEC... lol

I expect Cal to get back in the mix with Yuri. Just speculation, but they have momentum. My Cal relations are saying they are now pushing for a big time D, and I could see Yuri fitting in there.

I also fear a push from Michigan for him.

@anthonydasher1 :

“Just traded messages with Yuri Wright of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J… told me he is no longer taking an official visit to Georgia.”

“Instead of Georgia, Yuri Wright says he will now take an official visit to Cal….”

from what ive heard out here, this is more or less true.
hamilton and wright are supposed to be real good friends.
that being said, whats most important to us at ND is that shumate and 2013 rb jabril peppers are tight. real tight. both from paterson. shumate like a bog bro to him.
kids a 2013 5 star RB.
does anyone know if d hamilton has visited cal yet? maybe this where yuri interest coming from? esp on heels of the aa game.

is darius hamilton visiting too? (wright and darius on same visit?)

if so-we (and anyone not named Cal) may in trouble for wright here.

From what I've gathered on various Cal boards, they don't feel confident about Hamilton. No OV set for him yet.

Latest word is that it has been confirmed by two different UM sources that Yuri is no longer going to visit scUM this weekend.

I love your posts because every time I see that you've posted on a recruit, I know it's straight up news and not nervous-guy speculation. Thanks again for the info!

For the record they are both citing that it is because UM did in fact cool on him, so a rescheduled seems highly unlikely.

They are all in on Reeves.

A couple of recruiting guys with very good reputations have suggested it has to do with attitude/character concerns about Wright.
