Amir Carlisle Transfers to ND

I haven't seen a thread on this, so I thought it deserves its own thread. As many of you know, there are big rumors about a possible ND transfer visiting ND as we speak. Tons of ridiculous names being thrown about (Brice Butler, Jake Heaps, Garrett Gilbert, McCoy - most of those guys have already chosen their school) as well as some intriguing ones (Kyle Prater and Amir Carlisle).

Well, they one gaining the most steam is Amir Carlisle. And about 10 minutes ago, a USC Rivals mod confirmed that he's hearing some rumblings that there are some legs to that rumor. We'll see.

Discuss, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, what do you guys think?

Would welcome Amir with open arms... thought this time last year that we were going to get him. Liked what I saw from him on the field this year when he got PT. Our gain is SC's loss... literally!

Maybe Amir found out what was promised was a load of shite. I'd love to get him on campus. Shame he burned some eligibility for Kiff.

I'll say 4 things:

1. When I saw him live at their final practice, I was really pumped to see him b/c the practices reports were GLOWING. Then, I saw him play and was thoroughly disappointed. He just looked like an average, boring RB. Apparently they said he hit the 'wall' and was hurt and kinda burned out, so he had no burst.

2. I saw him later in the season and thought he looked much better. He looked much more impressive than the kid I saw at the practice.

3. I remember when Kiffin burned his redshirt to get him a couple of plays in a game, and I was like, WTF? Why burn his redshirt for so few carries? If he comes to ND, now I'm REALLY pissed he burned his redhsirt LOL.

4. Maybe Amir saw the writing on the wall. At first Kiffin absolutely loved him. By the end of the year, George Farmer played like 2 weeks in practice at RB and passed him on the depth chart. And sorry LAX, the coaches LOVE Farmer and RB and he's going to stay there for the foreseeable future. They think he can be an Adrian Peterson type RB (tall, super fast, but definitely not as strong, yet he has the ability to put on weight, which is what he has already done). So Amir is probably like - 'screw it, I'm behind Moody, Farmer and maybe even Morgan, might as well go to ND and be closer to my dad and have a chance to get real PT when CW and Theo graduate'.

I like him more at RB if he were to come here. He was doing well there for USC. I think he would compliment Mahone well. Im curious to find out what NDinLA thinks...slot or RB?

there's room for both imo...one of the two can play slot and if they both play RB that means all we have to do is sign isaac in 2013 and we'll be done at RB for the year.

None of this is confirmed. Seems more likely than most of the other names. And I have been hearing about arm stead since these imports started. Other names seem like wil guesses

Armond is not on campus this weekend. The possible transfer referenced in this thread is on campus. Armond is a possibility, but not as immediate.

It was talked about in depth in the other thread, its not Armond.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but given the NCAA's "5 years to play 4" rule, Kiffin burning Amir's redshirt wouldn't affect us at all. Either way, Amir would have 3 years of eligibility left after sitting out his transfer year.

I have no idea what you are trying to say...

He's a chronic complainer about the concept of threads and forums that's used on this board. He wants a free form board where people post whatever, wherever, helter skelter. He's even objected to the Recruiting Profiles as being inconvenient and too much more for him to deal with.

He's been told multiple times by mods, Phammer, and others that there are plenty of boards with a free form approach for him to chose from. This one isn't changing despite his continual complaints.
