Thanks man. While it is nice to get some love from your fellow posters and I appreciate any and all anyone has thrown my way, I feel like now I have guilted people into it.

I just want to clarify that my "campaigning" for a nod here was supposed to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek (although, like I said, I do appreciate it). I'm really not all that worried about a "nomination," and I feel like a jackass now because everyone seems so concerned about my emotional well being.

Wow! I feel like I've already won something just by being nominated. When I opened the thread I didn't expect to see my name as I don't have much useful information to pass on or share. The other guys nominated are much more deserving. I'm happy just being a membe of IE, I've learned a great deal about my favorite college, football team and met some pretty cool peeps. How good does it make you feel to go up to somebody, born a little different than yourself, and call him "retard?" How good do you feel when you call a person, born a little different than yourself, "retarded" around his mom or dad? Since all we have on a message board are words to use at our disposal, I suggest you use some of your words a bit more carefully.

Having fun with people (sometimes even at one's own expense) , having a good time, and back and forth banter is NOT the same thing as calling someone "retarded." It's not in the same ball park. Frankly, it's not even the same game. Some words are over the line. Would you use the N word on here aimed at me and not expect some type of similar rebuttal? I'd guess no, because you'd think that would be over the line. I suggest you read my earlier post, again.

The black eyed peas are a terrible example for you to use. If the black eyed peas were so proud of their song, then why did they record a 2nd version...the version that was actually released for radio and commercial play? If there's nothing wrong with that, and it's just "joking," then why change they lyrics and record an entirely different version??

Note-- I realize you're not the only poster on here who has used or uses that word, Mike. But you were the first one to use it in a post directed at me specifically. If you feel the need to discuss this further or have the concept explained further as to why a person may take offense to the word "retarded," then PM me (honestly though, I don't think it does). But I felt that this should also be out in "public," so to speak, for others to see as well. For you Mike, and everybody out there-- go on using the word, never use it again, curb your use of it, whatever...but at least you'll perhaps think about using it and be aware others find no humor in it and are actually quite offended by its use.
