BTW, a little more information on Aaron since his thread is closed, per ESPN:

Aaron Lynch, as expected, is favoring two of his home state schools. Florida and Florida State are the leaders for the No. 7 defensive end's services reports the News-Press.

The Island Coast (Cape Coral, Fla.) High standout may visit the Seminoles against UNC on Saturday and the Gators for their Nov. 13th showdown against South Carolina.

Here's what Lynch's high school coach told the newspaper: "He's told me a couple of times he had doubts about Notre Dame," Island Coast coach Joe Bowen said. "It's not one thing. It doesn't have anything to do with the games. I think he wants to stay closer to his friends down here."

Lynch echoed that sentiment saying "I just really want to stay in Florida," but did add that he isn't "into (ND's) 3-4 defense" and is "more of a 4-3 guy."

... he is probably the most talented player to ever play the game.

As the saying went, "back in my day, "I kinda farging doubt it." [You know the appropriate substitute for "farging."] "Talent" without class and effort equals nada.

Moss, who played at a school in the same conference as two of my brothers, WAS the freakiest athlete anyone's ever seen [He began the state championship BBall game by getting the opening tip to Jason Williams, who just turned and lofted it to the rim, whereupon Moss, already there, monster-jammed it...the game was over in the first ten seconds]. On Moss' team was a linebacker who DID qualify at ND and started and was quite good---sorry, memory bank is fogged on his name. You CAN go to Dupont and graduate from ND. But Moss couldn't have. He didn't even graduate from Marshall, and to my knowledge had very few credits when he left. It's still a joke in WVA that even Florida State couldn't stomach him.

Bobbie Howard I believe. Big-Time hitter!

I agree. But in terms of raw talent and athletic abilities he is second to none. When you're talking about God given talent you have to think about Moss.

To DaBLK: Bobbie Howard it was, and i apologize to a really fine player for forgetting his name---imagine that team for a miniscule high school...Moss, Howard, and BBall guard [Florida and NBA] Jason Williams playing QB. How can a town with almost no population grow all that at the same time??

MOVE ON!!! This kid is NOT coming to ND. Let's just close this thread. No sense talking about a Gator player. Yes, I said it. He is going to be a Gator thug. DONE.

He was a tight end last year

yea alot of systems refer to their TE's as Y's and depending on the system TE/Y's can be the same as a slot reciever as i am sure you know. the thing that i remember was someone saying he was lined up in the slot and blocking some little db 20 yards downfield, big difference between blocking db's and blocking DE's. oh well in a couple of years he will be getting arrested for dui's or sending his girl "time to die" texts so I guess it realy doesnt matter.

I want to wish him luck. I really do.

But deep down there is a small part of me that hopes he tears his achilles and starts a promising career at McDonalds.

Embrace your inner schadenfreude...we all have it. I too want to wish these kids luck, but I can't muster my whole heart to do so. Like if Florida State loses every game next year and they never see the field, I don't think I would mind.

Anyways, I've said enough. The ND bandwagon is starting to get rolling, you don't get to go back on once you've gotten off (same rules as the stadium.) Prestwood and Lynch should have fun in Florida, but they're going to miss out on one hell of a ride.

Right on. Sorry boys, you missed the bus. Your mistake. These guys better pray they never blow out a knee because general studies degrees won't get you as far as any degree from ND.

Hopefully this win against Utah will be the catalyst for good things to come.

did lynch committ? I didnt hear anything yet about him. But my hunch is, he will be a FSU committ very soon. I originally thought both of these guys were going to florida, but I guess its FSU.

My bold prediction: Lynch to FSU (soon, very soon)

Yea, I just kind of lumped them together. Lynch has mirrored Prestwood so far, so I'm assuming that trend continues.

Aren't most kids his age though? I am in no way defending him or his actions, but I do sympathize with the pressure put on him by coaches, fan bases, scouting services, and his peers to choose a school THEY want for him. Hopefully he figures out what he wants, and chooses that path. I wish him the best.

I liked Prestwood but oh well. Lynch is starting to sound like Chris Martin part 2 to me.

FSU is not going to be doing anything anytime soon. Really hope the kid loves Florida, because he's probably just cost himself in the future with this move.

Schlabach on ESPN projects us to play FSU in the Champs Sports Bowl. I would absolutely love to beat up on them, especially if Lynch commits there too.

To Aube: it's been my observation that ND always gets invited to a bowl higher that our record would normally claim lately, because the bowl administrators want the ND name for TV viewership revenues and stadium tickets. We are still an economic plum. This is why we have been getting opponents higher ranked than we are all along. [and the wins consequently more difficult].

I would assume so as well. The tickets for the game went up lol.
