Offer List > Measurables

This.

He's been offered by schools with some of the best defensive backfields in the country: VT, Miami, 'Bama, and Florida.

Those coaching staffs aren't worried about his tangibles, so you shouldn't be either.

Rivals says he narrowly missed a 4th star.

The group at defensive back is highlighted by players such as cornerback Donaldven Manning of Miami (Fla.) Edison, a Virginia Tech commit, and safety Cordrea Tankersley of Aiken (S.C.) Silver Bluff, a major target of Clemson and South Carolina.

"In the Sunshine State, the player who was on the cusp of being a four-star but ended up a high three-star in this release of the rankings is Manning," Rivals.com Florida analyst Chris Nee said. "The Virginia Tech commitment is working with a lot of tools, specifically excellent quickness, instincts and ball skills, but his lack of ideal size raises some question marks. If Manning displays the ability to play physically while wearing pads on Friday night, then he will likely see that fourth star awarded when the time comes."

He is a likely summer visitor. Obviously will help ourselves a lot with this underrated prospect with a good visit.

He and recruiting hoss, Tony Alford, have a great relationship. I read at 247 they speak weekly...

This almost has to be a case of wanting to have the fun of seeing Notre Dame and the USC game on top of it. When I think about that, I wonder why EVERYBODY in the country isn't coming.

Where does this game stack up nationally now in terms of interest from recruits? Is the The Game that the class of 2012 is most aware of, or are there others that will draw this kind of attention? USC/Oregon, Auburn/Alabama, LSU/Alabama, etc.?

The staff is steering recruits to this game. This is a calculated move. They know what the atmosphere will be like. They know what the pageantry of this game represents. It's a night game. Loud crowd. Rowdy student section. Hated rival in a key recruiting state.

If you're going to visit ND, this is the best game to be a part of, whether you're truly interested or not.

All of this bodes well for a recruits first gameday experience at ND

I agree with all of that. I think it is not only good for this year, but for the years to come. They will talk about the game to other people, possibly other recruits down the road.

i also think that the more recruits we steer to this game will help allow our commits to recruit as well. imagine tee and deontay in shaq's ears the whole game, i would think that would leave quite an impression (granted we smack the *iss outta USC)

Moved to number two on his list. Love what ND had to offer. Still verbal to Va Tech but we have him something to think about. Might visit Texas Tech. per rivals

he and b. poole talked about whether they could see themselves in Irish uniforms/compared ND to VT and FL..

ND has athletics and academics; VT all football life.

No place has felt like home as much as Tech tho, has to pray on it--should decide soon.

Per ISD, Manning's coach says ND still recruiting him and Manning will make a decision sometime in January. Still "committed" to Virginia Tech.

Kid balled tonight. We now know why ND was so high on him.

I thought he played ok. He had 2 face masks that would have been called in college which the announcers praised him for for some reason. He also got beat for a TD once. That one return was real nice though.

He reminds me of former Va Tech corner Brandon Flowers who is now with the Chiefs.
