Well if he gets Dayne, I imagine he might be able to at least double the wins that KU had last season.

I(we) don't know if Dayne has any interest in Kansas but I tell you what, he could look great there under Charlie.

First Davie and now Weis. Man if Ty comes out of retirement next week then maybe some people are right and the world is ending in 2012!

I think it will be very good. It's a name. It will make people feel like we made a splash.

That said, ND didn't play that great fundamentally when he was around. His Florida record is mediocre.

I bet it'll be 75% positive.

Fitz? Your thoughts?

There was nothing wrong with the offense when he was here. Unfortunately he was the head coach and handed the defense over to D by committee. He'll do well in Kansas.

Man what a roller coaster ride for him. ND, Kansas City, Florida then Kansas. I bet his wife wants to kill him.

Crist to Kansas with Weis would be such a poetic ending to his CFB career.

Hoping it happens so he can light up the Big12 and get drafted.

I'm not a CW basher at all, but if this doesn't work out for him his career in football would have to be next to over right?

These short stints can't do anything to help people believe that you're a 'company guy.'

Why would any employer want to hire him if he just packs and leaves whenever someone offers him a new gig?

It seems to be an unwritten rule in CFB that if a coach gets offered a serious promotion at a different school, he's expected to take it without any hard feelings.

Kansas is a major program in an AQ conference. Getting offered the HC job there is a big step up from OC at UF.

If he had made an horizontal move-- like taking a coordinator position at ND for instance-- he'd definitely be burning bridges. But this shouldn't really surprise anyone. Opportunity knocks infrequently for CFB coaches, so you've gotta jump when the time comes.

I'm floored. This is insane for Charlie, and I really like Charlie. I was shocked last year when he went to Florida until he explained why. He got to run the offense, his wife had the huge horse farm, his son would be on staff there, and his daughter had a rough year at the place in Kansas City.

So why Kansas? Why a death trap for a football coach? What about Maura's farm? Does Charlie Jr stay at Florida? What about Hannah? Doesn't make sense to me. I thought within a few years he and Muschamp would have the gators back on top of the SEC

As a Dawgs fan, I'm glad Muschump has more issues and loses recruits over this. The longer Florida is down, the better!

Glory Glory!

I'm happy for Charlie. I don't agree with his decision, but I will certainly root for him. However, I think for him to be successful, he will need a hell of a defensive coordinator. Somehow, I don't think Tenuta is waiting by the phone.

I hope Dayne goes to KU with Chuck. I would love to watch him play a few times in his final season.

GOOO Charlie. I liked the guy. He did wonders for showing a guy could recruit. After Holtz, there was alot of excuses. CW did a pretty good job.

But CW's time at ND cemented my opinion that no HC experience is a no no in BCS level schools. You better know how to be the guy BEFORE you step on the big stage.
