Rich Rod barely uses a TE, I think Zona is all but eliminated now. I hope we offer this kid.

Supposedly he's off to visit Cal, which means his potential OV to Michigan is a no-go.

I really like this kid and I hope he dons the blue and gold. Seems to have a very positive attitude towards the Irish.

There was a tweet I got saying that Taylor may take an UNOFFICIAL visit to UM. Which IMO is worse considering he's willing to pay for it to go.

McNamara recaps Cal visit - On The Trail Blog - ESPN

Just came back from his visit to Cal.

Last official is to Oklahoma Dec. 16

Really had a good time. Happy he decided to make the trip because he almost canceled it.

Him and K. Russell were there together and they were talking about how cool it would be to play together since they have similar schools at the top of their lists.

He had reservations about taking the visit because of his concern on how Cal uses the tight end in their offense if at all.

“He told me they haven’t had a real athletic tight end in a while and if they did, they would use him more,” McNamara said. “He said they need a guy like me who can stretch the field and I kind of expected him to say that. He’s a great coach and a great guy and I really like Cal a lot.

Likes the academics there. They are building new facilities which he says will blow away Oregon and every school when they are done. Likes how it's close to home and his family can attend every home game.

Says he has no favorites. In-home visits - Oklahoma Monday went really well. Washington came in Wednesday and he says Coach S. is a genius. Coach Tedford will be there today (Thursday) and he leaves for his official to Norman. He says Oklahoma has no tight ends right now so he could step in and play right away.

No specific mentions of ND.

Decommitted from Arizona.

Top 3 Cal, OU, ND no order.

He is an EE and is taking his last OV to OU this weekend.

Really liked Cal a lot and the proximity to home. OU has a very favorable depth chart.

Well if he is planning on EE and Kelly said we will know who they all are by Friday, it isn't going to be ND unless he gets an offer Today or Tomorrow.

how in the hell do we not have an offer out to this kid?
the #1 TE in the country
he tweets a ton on how he loves ND etc
his last names mcnamara for crying out loud.
im of the george young mindset "take this best player available" this kid is the #1 TE in this class, is irish, loves nd...and were slow playing him? what am i missing here?

His ratings are actually all over the place. Scout has him as a 3* ranked in the high teens for his position I think. 247 has him as a 4* top five TE, ESPN has him as a really low 4 star. So, he isn't the consensus #1 TE.

Aside from that, he is a really good player. He reminds me more of Welch than Koyack. I think from a fit standpoint, he would be a good, but not great fit in Kelly's offense. Perhaps they know Eifert is coming back and know that with Welch and Koyack, they can afford to wait one more year on a te recruit. There are more pressing needs if Eifert stays.

Stinks I like the kid and think he is going to be a good TE. If ND had room and offered he would be all Irish.

He's not the #1 TE. He's a top 10 guy, but that monster from FSU Kent Taylor is the #1 guy

If ND gave him a commitable offer, he'd be Irish
