The recruiting ranking are bizarre with him. Rivals/247 have him as a top 5 back, while Scout/ESPN have him in the lo-mid 20's. What's up with that?
I think Scout and ESPN think he's a little slow.

I can definitely see myself at Notre Dame, it’s a fantastic university. Originally thought that ND was just too far away form home but the coaches told me that no matter where I go, unless it’s Washington, I’m going to have to get on a plane to go home. Even if I went to USC or Cal I would still have to fly home and that made sense to me.
I loved the guys on the team. They’re all academically minded and also great football players, so I can relate to them. They have a great and young coaching staff, and I like how they use the running back. They said they would use me the same way they use Cierre Wood and that’s a great fit for me. The tradition is great, every game is televised and even though the school is farther away, ND is recruiting me the hardest out of all the school interested in me and that goes a long way to me.
I know Byron Marshall just committed but we would actually complement each other really well.
Per rivals.
In home visit tomorrow. With Denbrock and Kelly.
Any word on this?

GB posted that yesterday, which means they would have been there today.

Notre Dame
Russell likes the distinction a degree from Notre Dame brings and is impressed by the fact the Fighting Irish graduate 95 percent of their players. "With a Notre Dame degree you're going anywhere you want," he said.
On the field, the Irish plan to use him in the open field, where Russell feels he excels. Because of Notre Dame's lack of depth at running back, Russell calls it the "best position" for him.
Washington
The Huskies have made a strong push for Russell. With most of his family from Kent, he likes that his relatives could continue to see him play. He said he feels "extremely comfortable at UW" and is friends with several of last year's recruits, including freshman standouts Kasen Williams and Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
Then, there's the man who runs the show.
"It's the hometown and I can easily relate to the people and coaches there," Russell said. "They make me feel welcome. Coach (Steve) Sarkisian is a fantastic coach. He is no doubt one of my favorite head coaches, if not favorite."
