I know I am a homer but I don't see why people think Stanford is so good. Andrew luck is amazing, but outside of him I dont see it. They have played absolutely no one outside of USC and Oregon. Their strength of schedule is 63. I am not predicting a win or loss, but I will be shocked if we get killed like some are saying

They have an outstanding offensive line with two potential first round picks (Jonathan Martin, David DeCastro) and a trio of tight ends (covered by Fox/Calabrese/Motta, which is absolutely frightening) led by Mackey Award semifinalist Coby Fleener.

Their defense is slow and struggles with speed, but we have no speed on offense. Wood, Floyd, Jones, Riddick do not have elite speed.

It's depressing that the season is basically over.. It always goes by in one furious blink.

I honestly think the key to ND holding their own tomorrow is how healthy everyone is.

Is this flu bug gone? This flu has riddled a bunch of guys on the team. How much of an actual hinderance will Teo's ankle be?

The talent is there to beat Stanford.. if its healthy and prepared to execute.

With my fiance this weekend and she isnt a huge football fan so I dont know if Ill get to watch it but I hope we pull of the upset. Enjoy the weekend yall lets hope for the upset. GO IRISH!

I suppose a lot of people thought that after the season in 1987 when ND lost the last 3 games, and also lost the Heisman winner, 2 offensive lineman and a pretty darn good linebacker in Cedric Figaro....and the fact that the 88 schedule had some pretty tough opponents like an opener against a top ten Michigan team, a powerhouse Miami team and a top five (#2 at the time of the game) USC team.....

The guys need to be rid of this flu and as close to 100% as possible to win this game.

But more importantly, we must establish the running game early. If not, Tommy will be exposed... and it will be tough to watch.

As long as the defense can sniff out some play-actions and not leave their feet while pursuing Luck they should hold the fort pretty well.

It really bothers me that I'm worried about the "Stanford" game.. It completely throws the "academic" excuse out the window. There is no reason we can't eventually dominate college football again.

Watching the skunbears vs. OSU I am convinced that in college football you need a QB that can run at least a little. If ND wants to win a BCS game let alone a national championship, they will need a QB who can run when everyone is covered. Tommy won't win ND a BCS game, period, end of story!
