Told you Wooly.

I think you misunderstood where I was going with my stance on all of this. I wasn't going to be surprised if he took visits (he said earlier that he wanted to), I just think its a bunch of yahyah that he is taking officials or serious visits. My original response was to Evo's question regarding whether we were not leading anymore, which I responded that this LSU banter was a bunch of yahyah. None of these visits are officials or very serious in my opinion. On Friday, I will not be mad at anything.

Then I was misinterpreting you. I responded to Evo's question on whether we led anymore, then you responded that I would be mad come Friday. I was well aware that Gunner may visit other schools before announcing, he said it publicly. What I didn't believe, is that it would be an official (which they are not) or even serious visits. I thought your "you'll be mad on Friday" comment was in regard to finding out Gunner is on an official or seriously considering LSU come Friday. I still do not believe either of those items are true, but it doesn't sound like you do either.

IMO, Gunner is just as much as a lock to ND as KMarsh is to UGA. That would be the case if I believed in a recruit ever being a lock. Just sayin'...

I gotta roll with Wooly on this one. All signs point to ND at the end of his recruitment. It just makes to much sense at this point.

Please don't take this as trying to be snotty, that's not how I mean it, but...what about the Lynch, Tuitt, Williams, Nicklas, etc defensive hual from last year to rebuild (basically immediately) a defense that desparately needed it

Yes, you have a valid point. The defense was in need of a major overhaul. That's for certain. However, I'm talking in terms for other recruits. Also, what makes a team go. In this offense the QB has to be the most important point. It has been lackluster this season and we are still winning games. Tommy has made a lot of crucial mistakes at the worst times. In terms of getting other players and building for the future he, meaning Gunner, is the most important recruit in the Kelly era. In my opinion.

The 3-headed beast from last year was the most important, in my opinion, but I think Gunner is the key to making this a great class and moving into next year with swagger.

I wouldn't mind if he went to Vandy. Jay Cutler take two?

If Keith Marshall is announcing Dec 6th, I think I want Gunner to announce on Dec 3rd.

Of course that is assuming that Gunner chooses ND

Terrible thought, but anyone think he'd want to take a look at OSU if Meyer is announced as HC?

Columbus, IN to South Bend, IN 188 miles, Columbus, IN to Columbus, OH 189 miles.....whew we are closer to home!

several people on an Ohio based site seem to think so. They also think he wouldn't be able to beat out Braxton Miller so they don't need him to take up a scholly.

We are just on the psychological knife-edge of an elite avalanche if something "right" happens. Gunner Kiel committing would probably be that something-right. Last year the combination of the All-Star game and Aaron Lynch's "life-saving" re-commit created a defensive avalanche, which may have swept in Niklas as well.

I think that this staff is good enough, hard-working enough, and has a great enough "choice" to offer that they CAN put it together without the catalyst, but Gunner could make it a whale of a lot easier to have one of the nation's best classes I believe.

C'mon big guy, we need you. You'll love that O-Line that'll be here, and love that gunslinger offense.

Why are people so convinced that Gunner isn't doing exactly what he says he's doing: looking around. I think Vanderbilt is a real possibility for him.

He committed to Indiana at one point. That suggests to me that playing for a NC contender is not priority #1. Plus, Franklin really is a great recruiter.

My hope is that people have info. that I don't. But right now I'm just assuming he's undecided.

He would probably inform the school of his choice earlier before he announces. I think some of us with good sources will know whether hes coming to South Bend or not a couple weeks before the announcement. This kid will not wait until Jan 7 to make a choice, he obviously wants to get it out of the way. This is just my opinion btw.

And then he decommited, presumably because he'd rather go to a more established program where it was more assured he wouldn't get thrown around like a rag doll.
