Per Steve Wiltfong,
Gunner said he had an awesome time at Notre Dame during his USC visit and enjoyed meeting some great people. Has established a relationship with Charley Molnar and Brian Kelly. Expects to get down to Notre Dame for an official and also plans on visiting for the BC game

this will be an interesting matchup, cathedral's record is deceiving as their 3 losses come from Louisville Trinity (#5 in the nation) Ben Davis (#3 in 5a Indiana) and Warren Central (#24 In the nation) Cathedral has a very talented defense this year lead by John Turner and 8 other senior starters. I would absolutely give Columbus East the edge at QB, but i think Cathedral will win this game. In the past few years the 4a South Semi-State champion has gone on to win the state championship, there will be a lot of pressure in this game for sure.

In addition Gunner said that he is not close to a decision decision and would like to visit every team he is considering one more time.

Considering that he plans on enrolling in January, I find it hard to believe that his decision isn't looming. I believe that Gunner said a similar comment shortly before committing to IU.

It has became gloriously obvious that ND is in the driver's seat with this. Gunner is going to keep it on the down low and continue being coy about his process, which is fine. But let's be real, this is Kelly's to lose, and I don't see that happening.

So he's visiting twice more? Or is the OV going to be for BC?

Kiel says that the staff wants him to to take a OV to ND. He says that if he's feeling good after the Cathedral game he will likely be in south bend for the BC game.

Im with ya on this one. I gotta believe we're the leader. And with that being said. I'd be absolutely shocked, and heart broken, if he went elsewhere. Just a matter of time now.

Currently sending a shipment of Omaha Steaks to East's OL in hopes of keeping Gunner upright and untouched against a tough Irish squad.

This might have been mentioned already, but I'm too lazy to comb through the last 50 pages.

Doesn't Gunner realize the earlier his commitment, the better chance he has of being in a signing class with stud counter-parts? He is far from decided, for I think he would have pulled the trigger if it was a done deal knowing this. Regardless, let's get 'em already.

I asked the same question. You know once he commits that others are going to be very interested in joining in. Hurry up Gunner! :)

For those suggesting that bringing in Gunner will bring in a ton of top players, I have to ask who your talking about? DGB? Not gonna happen even if we bring in Montana. Marshall? Not gonna happen if Richt keeps his job.

We already have a solid WR class in Brown, Greenberry, and Ferguson. Signing Gunner will not open the flood gates to elite wide recievers.

Also, Gunner is planning to EE, which leaves plenty of time for the staff to get on players before signing day. There is no need for Kiel to hurry, and we shouldn't expect that to happen.

..... just my opinion.

It might help with Banner. They spent some time together during the visit if I am not mistaking.

I see your point, but it certainly can't hurt. Gunner is a prize in his own right, so just landing him would be epic.

Not only would it not hurt with guys like Banner, Agholar, Payton and Perkins (he tweeted to Gunner several times), but regardless of how you feel about Keith Marshall's lean to UGA... Truth tweeted about the Gunner commitment rumor before we even started posting about it on here.

Gunner would certainly firm up guys already verballed and could certainly push some other guys off the fence to us.

Agreed. He would have very positive efforts for the current and future recruiting prospects. I just wish he would pull the trigger.
Let him finish his season. As much as many of us want him to commit and commit now he's going to be sure this time because he's not going to want to rescind another commit.

Hopefully it's a matter of time because he's a flat out stud and IMO he doesn't have an equal in this class the next or the previous 3 or so classes.

Out of HS, IMO he's the best since Matt Barkley.

I agree and know you are correct. it is just like being a kid waiting to unwrap the Christmas present. In the end, this is the reality with recruitying-lots of ups and downs.

Lots of "buzz buzz" out there... according to "sources" a commitment is imminent but won't happen until at least his season is complete.

This would make me sooooooo happy.

a commitment here, and i know this has been said a lot, but it will increase the odds of finsihing off this class with an impressive bang.
