I'd say when Lou Holtz left ND....
1993 NC slipped away....

Just saying can we please focus on the good rather than picking apart our own team?

ND are the Gods of CFB always has been always will be..
BK will add a NC to the GUG...

This year's Michigan had me straight depressed. I've been mad after plenty of losses, but I was in the dumps after that ****-fest.

2007 was my first year having season tickets and I knew it was going to be a difficult season to say the least... Expected something like an 8-4 or 7-5 season and to witness 3-9 for a Notre Dame team was shocking to the core. I was in the stands for GT, MSU, USC, Navy, and Air Force.

Extremely painful to watch.

Thank you Mods for banning Celtic. This thread is absolutely pointless in nature. We should be supporting our team during this time, not trying to think about horrible moments in our team's history. I like anyone else hate those moments, especially the '07 season, but it does us no good to try and divide our fanbase at a time like this.

Hmmmm...I thought your lowest point as an Irish fan was the time you were banned under the name IrishTimer for ripping this site, its members and its mods for having the audacity to merge your thread with a preexisiting thread? You remember right Timer...how you were trying to start a 'series' on this site and how we were infringing on your God-given right to start said 'series' on IrishEnvy (even though someone already beat you to the punch).

So if you hate this site so much (remember the crap you posted about us on another site with your boy JayRockkkkkkkkkk), and you hate me and you hate several of our members...then why are you back under an assumed name?

And next time, why not just apologize for being such a prick and ask to come back instead of pretending you're new to the site?

pwned.

With all respect, being a fan entails the high points and the low points. It's because I remember 1974 So Cal comeback that I loved beating So Cal 10 straight later on. It's because 2011 Michigan was such a gut punch, that I'm going to love it when ND rips off five straight against them starting next year. It's because I sat through Faust's last game, the humiliation against Johnson and the Hurricanes, that the National Title a few years later was so sweet. I don't see how it divides us -- seems our pain is something we have in common. It's what makes us real fans and not frontrunners. Just my opinion.....

I mostly agree with you.We have all gone through the crap together....and that makes us a family that we still love ND as much as we all do. But to come on here and make a thread to rehash our personal worst moments in our fandom is honestly ridiculous.

I'll grant you, it's a little depressing to see how many bad moments we've had in the last decade or so. But the good news is, I do think it's turning around. Being able to start so many starting freshmen is a great sign for the future. Maybe we need a "best moments" and "predictions for the next great moment" thread, lol.

Being in the stands for Navy last year was pretty rough....

Losing to an 8-loss Syracuse team ranks rather high as well.

Hard to choose....

2009 was the most disappointing season in my ND Fandom. I really thought '09 was going to be the year that ND proved all the doubters wrong and they looked really good against Nevada in the opener which I attended. The loss to Michigan was pretty awful, but I thought the officiating was awful and made excuses. But I can remember when Kumara fell down trying to catch the final pass against SC in the endzone and just having this feeling that this season was no different than the previous disappointments.

A close 2nd was being at the Syracuse game in 2008 and with ND still up 14 points in the 4th quarter turning to my brother and saying "watch them blow this", and watching it happen. They had blown leads all year and it didn't really surprise me.

I have a few considerations here:

1993 vs BC. I cried after the game. Just wept.

2005 Bush Push. Still can't watch that game without getting sick

2003 @ Syracuse. Watching the team roll over and give up on Ty was pathetic.

2008 vs Syracuse. Senior Day loss was depressing.

2007 vs Navy. The streak ends. Just the lowest point in an awful season.

2010 @ Navy. Getting pwnt by a service academy? Bad.

2011 @ Michigan. Just a maddening frustrating loss. I disavowed Gary Gray for weeks after this one.

Wow the last decade has been rough....

You might add the 1964 So.Cal game. Ara's first season as Head Coach. Our last game of the season, undefeated, National Championship on the line, they kicked a last second field goal to dash our hopes. That one started the bitterness of the rivalry that exists to this day.

I'm not the defending the guy, but its on topic, so its a fine thread. Yeah, its negative - if you don't like it, don't open it. But its on topic, so its okay.

I haven't been a fan for that long, and to be honest I wasn't that heavily invested in the Bush Push game to make that one of my low points, so I think this year's UM loss was the worst. As I've told some of you, I was at my homecoming trying my hardest to ignore the game so I could watch it when I got home in its entirety, and when I was leaving my friend called over to me that ND was up by 17 in the 4th. So you could imagine my surprise when I was walking by a bar downtown just in time to catch UM's game winning TD in the corner of my eye. I literally dropped to my knees.

That.

And also, '08 Syracuse, just because, I mean, for God's sake? Syracuse?

BC 1993. We should have won the NC that year. After the exhilaration of pounding FSU, losing to BC hard to take.

After they fired Holtz, it hasn't hurt as much watching our slow decline, as I know they don't really care about winning NC's anymore. So, I have accepted that ND has changed, which has made everything a lot easier.

- 1991 Orange Bowl - When that flag flew in the air on what couldve been the greatest play in Notre Dame history, I couldve cried. I wasn't a happy camper the rest of that week. A pissed off little 11 year old haha (obviously that loss has scarred me haha!)
- 1993 Boston College - On top for exactly one week until BC rolls in and beats us on a last second field goal. That my friend was the beginning of the end.
- 2007 Sugar Bowl - When we got thumped in that game I had to literally ignore calls from friends for weeks.
- 2007 Navy - I wanted to craw into a hole and die.

Firing of Coach Terry Brennan. Three of five years a top 10 finish. Four of five a top 20 finish. He deserved better.

Where to begin, where to begin....

The one that sticks out to me most was against BC the first year of Ty's era. 8-0 going into that game, and just got it handed to us by an AWFUL BC team. I was really young then, and wasn't as emotionally invested as I am now, but if I was, it would have hurt a whole hell of a lot more.

2001 (or 2000, I'm not sure) when Eric Crotch ran it in for a touch down in OT to give Nebraska the win. This hurt really bad because I'm from Omaha, and watched it at my dad's bar surrounded by 120 Husker fans, all of which I despised, because they get excited over beating Tennessee Chattanooga, or the Iowa School of the Blind...

And how can I not forget the Bush Push? I had tickets to an AHL game that night, and the people who were taking me and my brothers got so pissed off because I wanted to see the end of the game. Well, Leinart runs out of bounds with the clock at :00, and I don't think I had ever been more happy in my life. And then....bam. They score a touchdown and I start bawling my eyes out. Such an awful moment....

Correction.

I never did so.

Nor did I ever say I "hated" this place. Please direct me to such comments.

I ripped your "modding abilities" when you insisted on saying JayRock and I were the same people. Which we aren't and never were.

how you were trying to start a 'series' on this site and how we were infringing on your God-given right to start said 'series' on IrishEnvy (even though someone already beat you to the punch).
Don't recall them doing that but whatever. Nor did I ever take issue with kmoose. The only "member" I had an issue with was IrishLax. And I only ever question the mods abilities(originally) when point out I had a similar thread the year before that wasn't mergerd.

Trolling? Yes.

Srs complaint? No.

So if you hate this site so much (remember the crap you posted about us on another site with your boy JayRockkkkkkkkkk),
I never once said I hated this place.

Ever.

If you have proof of it please show me.

The only thing I did was post of a picture of IrishLax's neg rep spree and say "He mad".

Tough to apologize when I get banned. How should I contact you? ESP? BTW I did PM you and did apologize and still do for trolling the site. However I have yet to hear back on it. *shrugs*

Both those. I came back from a camping trip to find the news paper of the BC kicker raising his hands in victory...taped to my front door, by my stepdad (UofM grad)...

That win would've changed a lot of convos this last decade about "When's the last time ND won anything"

93 was our year.

05 just hurt because BQ drove us down the field and won the damn thing...only to watch our D give it up. Yeah, Bush push sucked...but its the pitiful D on that final drive that put USC in that position.

Honestly it is every Saturday when i check a message board in the 1st quarter after the first drive and someone is throwing a fit because ND did not score on the first play or return a turnover on the first play.
