Hate to be "that guy" but I really dislike when we play dress up. I know it's stupid to let it upset me but it does. Maybe once in a great while we can bust out the green for a big game but otherwise it's unnecessary.

We have one of the most iconic uniforms in college football history, so why mess with perfection. Give me my beloved Gold and Blue every week.

I also hate the "It helps with recruiting" argument. Look at the two best teams this year:
  • Alabama - Players will either wear Crimson on White or White on White every game.
  • LSU - Players will be wearing White on Yellow (It's yellow not gold I don't care what they say) 90% of the time.
The point I'm trying to make with these two examples is that 200 uniform combinations are not needed to get recruits. If a big concern for a recruit is how fashionable our uniforms are I really don't want him playing here anyway. Rant over.

Both Alabama and LSU have worn Nike Pro Combat uniforms for the past 2-3 years once per season

And both have also won a lot of games and sent a lot of players to the NFL. Recruits dig it.

Nothing wrong with a little spice, especially for our yearly barnstorming game. I think they look pretty cool, but I am from the younger crowd and I am a traditionalist about some other things, so I completely understand why some are disgusted with some of the new changes.

Touche

Still I doubt a selling point on recruiting visits is "Hey have you seen our Nike Pro Combat uniforms?"

Like them for the most part, but this is our 4th different helmet design of the season. Seems like it's beginning to get to the face of bold-faced gimmickry instead of cool surprise.

I think the shams are hot. More hotness equals more press equals more recruits. To get better we need much better players.

It looks like the green/shamrock uniforms will be for our neutral site games from here on.
I'm more than cool with that.
Keep the beautiful traditional look for home and away, spice it up once a season.
I think the only reason people are opposed to this is because they already had the under the lights helmet and the new awesome gold helmet this season.
It feels a bit overkill to them.

I don't like the shamrocks at all. Looks cheesy to me. I don't understand why we don't put the Leprechaun on the helmet, I think that would look way better. I don't want the leprechaun all of the time but for these once in a while games I think that would be much better than the shamrocks.

leprechaun will be on the helmet for the shamrock series as well.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that. Maybe I shouldn't spout off when I don't know. Still the shamrock has to go or needs to be adjusted. Again thanks for clarification, I really appreciate it.

no worries bud.

the decal will be minor. probably similar in size to the shamrock for "x" on the back. which, if i'm not mistaken will still be there too.

i don't mind the shamrock series look. i think these will be very busy with both back decals on top of the side "'rocks". but, i like the change of pace sometimes. i liked the look of the "under the lights game". and i remember flipping out, in a good way, when nd warmed up in the blues and came out in the greens for the bush-push game.

the good news, even the green machine looks better than maryland's uni's this year! holy hell those are bad!!

I like the shamrocks. Random but I wouldn't mind them seeing what the navy ND would look like on the helmet or perhaps the leprechaun, I understand that would be more elaborate design. Now please don't kill me for saying this but what about putting their names on the back?
