We've had a couple of good corners since then (Allen Rossum and Shane Walton, most notably) but none of them were really good pro prospects.

Yeah, Walton is one of my favorite ND players ever. He was everywhere his last season, making all kinds of plays.

Jeff Burris was a 1st-round pick in 1994 for my Buffalo Bills. He was never a great pro, but he was a terrific player at Notre Dame.

Shane Walton and Vontez Duff were the last time Notre Dame had two really good corners. Neither made it in the NFL, but both were awesome college players.

Bobby Taylor was the man! Also, was a very good pro! Better pro than Todd Lyght.

I doubt it.

Terrell Owens called Todd Lyght one of the four best corners he'd ever competed against, along with Deion Sanders, Aeneas William, and Charles Woodson.

I'm a huge supporter of Tee. Honestly if Tee can get Shaq Thompson to commit to ND, that could possibly be the greatest 2 DB prospect tandum to commit to ND. These 2 guys are truly elite! Can't wait to see how this goes.

For real.

And if you think Tee + Shaq is good. Imagine the possibility of Tee + Darby + Shaq + Poole.

I would compare Darby to Ishaq last year. Great talent, Huge upside but he has a lot to learn.

Tee and Shaq would be Tuitt and Lynch. They are ready to go.

Just curious as to what makes you say that? Darby is the #1 rated corner by scout.com, and if you prefer 7 on 7s over scout's ratings, he absolutely tore it up at the grid iron kings.

Not saying Tee won't be ready to go but I just don't know what you're basing your assumption on that Darby has more to learn than the others.

Darby is not a true CB. He plays mostly RB. I know the ratings love him because of his speed and athletic ability but he is still learning the position. Tee is a true corner that fits Diaco's system perfectly and works with one of the best DB coaches in the country. Tee also "tore it up" at the camps

Well I am not Jason but I would say that Darby is more raw when it comes to technique than Tee is. Tee is extremely fundamentally sound while Darby gets by on athleticism not technique or knowledge of the position. That is why most of us think Tee can come in and compete right away and that Darby will probably help more on ST's his freshman year while he gets the technique down.

I think they both can and will play as freshman. Darby fast? Yes. Raw? Not so much. He was a stud in one on one's at the grid iron kings and was called a "lock down corner".

I don't doubt that they will but as i Have stated before Tee will be competing for a starting job early while Draby will likely see more ST play. 3 years from now Darby may end up the better player but early on Tee will be the guy.

Look at this year. Lots of posters were saying Brown would be getting early PT because of his size and speed etc. Turns out Josh Atkinson is because he is more polished and knows the position better.

Darby's definitely raw at corner.

It's overstated how raw he is. Is he polished? No. But how much of a raw ATH he is gets overblown by the fact that he does it all HS... RB, special teams, DB, etc. He's very good at CB right now... but yeah, will be very hard for him to earn significant minutes as a true frosh without being an EE.

Joe Haden was a raw Athlete coming out of high school. By his sophomore year he was one of the nations best corner. His junior year he was the nations best corner.
