So far Pitt was the most effective at shutting down Floyd, but in doing so they left Eifert open big time. Thats why you have to have that 1-2 punch, and hopefully you have a decent 3rd option to go to like TJ Jones.

It's a sad situation when we're considering Riddick the fourth option.

Yeah, maybe, but TJ is the 3rd most productive receiver by stats so far this year with Riddick coming in at 4th. If Riddick stays for his senior year, and I expect he would, TJ would probably be the WR with the most touches next year as well.

GO DOME GO!!!

REALLY?? Not even sure how to respond. Are you serious? Are being condescending to me?

Yeah, he's just loser troll. He was banned under a different name awhile back, and now I just banned him under 2 other names well. And just like all the other d!ck loser trolls who have never touched a girl, he'll be back...

IMO, I think this says more about TJ's development from frosh to soph than it does about Riddick.

True. I would have to say TJ has learned quite a bit about the offense in the last year, but I haven't seen that much improvement from Riddick. Thats not to say there hasn't been improvement, but we need both guys to continue to develop. You never know what could happen to Floyd through the season, and there will certainly be a big hole to fill next year.

anyone know where the Rockne statue that everyone rubs for good luck?

It's a few miles down the tollroad in a place called Gary, Indiana. Go to the Concord Commons Apartments, tell the pimp-looking guy in front of unit 5C "Steelhead sent me," give him 50 bucks, and.....my bad, thought we were looking to rub something else.....

Riddick certainly hasn't improved. If anything, he's regressed.

Before getting injured in the Western Michigan game last year, he had 37 receptions for 404 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those numbers -- through six games -- included a 4-game stretch (MSU, Stanford, BC, Pitt) where he caught 10, 7, 9 and 7 balls respectively for a total of 343 yards and 3 touchdowns. This year, Theo has basically been a non-factor (except for costing us the USF game).

I don't know if it's something with that ankle injury, either physical or mental, or if Rees just doesn't look to him enough (he complied those great numbers with Crist, remember)... but something just is not right with Theo. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with "learning the offense" or adjusting to a new position, because he was such a dynamic player through the first half of 2010.

IMO, if this team wants to win 8, 9, 10 games, then Riddick needs to start contributing.

i guess you dont have to be to big to cut the hell out of a guy though! I hate that s*^t

The players can't worry about that though to the extent where it affects their physicality. That's the reason ND got their arse handed to them last year by Navy. Everybody was talking about it/concerned about it. Just go punch them in the mouth. If ND is the aggressor on Saturday, Irish win by at least 10.

Ok thanks. And about stopping Floyd with Wright, thats really funny. Stopping Floyd is easier said than done.

Unless they got 3 guys names Wright and they all are gonna cover mike at the same time its not gonna happen.

Then again it is all what you consider "Stopping" mike. We could run the ball so far down their lil throats all game we might need to throw much.

s/n - plz lets see this Hendy/Golson package (assuming more Hendy, Golson seems an automatic redshirt) before Hendrix transfers.

There's no stopping him that way, either. He mauls opposing DBs so Jonas and Cierre can rip off big chunks on the edges.

I'm not worried about Hendrix transferring. He's pre-med, and ND has one of the best preprofessional programs in the nation. Hard to see a kid who's that serious about academics transfer just for a shot at PT.

ouch Whisk..... Killing me.

A.) For not really incorporating one of Mikes many qualities.
(though blocks springing big runs dont make the stat sheets, it should)

and

B.) exposing my lack of knowledge about Andrews major. Had i ever seen that i suppose it never woulda been in my head.

Thank you sir.

It wasn't intended as a rebuke. Blocks don't show up on #3's stat sheet, so if they limit his production through the air, most would probably consider that "stopping" him.

And I too was worried about Hendrix transferring until someone mentioned last week that he's pre-med. Puts his situation in an entirely different light.

Louis Nix is one of those players on the team (and there is 'more than a few' of them) who seem to slowly, delibrately, steadily get better each week. I see Louis Nix making a gameday impact more and more with every game. it may not show up the stat sheet, the but the big fella is putting in work and its paying off. I would like to see him have a 'breakout' game this week against AF and the 2nd stringer.....
