True. I would have to say TJ has learned quite a bit about the offense in the last year, but I haven't seen that much improvement from Riddick. Thats not to say there hasn't been improvement, but we need both guys to continue to develop.
Riddick certainly hasn't improved. If anything, he's regressed.
Before getting injured in the Western Michigan game last year, he had 37 receptions for 404 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those numbers -- through six games -- included a 4-game stretch (MSU, Stanford, BC, Pitt) where he caught 10, 7, 9 and 7 balls respectively for a total of 343 yards and 3 touchdowns. This year, Theo has basically been a non-factor (except for costing us the USF game).
I don't know if it's something with that ankle injury, either physical or mental, or if Rees just doesn't look to him enough (he complied those great numbers with Crist, remember)... but something just is not right with Theo. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with "learning the offense" or adjusting to a new position, because he was such a dynamic player through the first half of 2010.
IMO, if this team wants to win 8, 9, 10 games, then Riddick needs to start contributing.
