every team we have played against we have not just stopped the run we destroyed it.. USF/MICH/MICH ST./PITT/PURDUE all had great running.. not to mention denard and b.j could run it also.. so i just have a hard time seeing them beat us...

But they are different beasts. Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Purdue are traditional Big Ten type rushing teams, Michigan and USF are not power teams. Air Force is triple option. Completely different animals.

Notre Dame needs to score touchdowns when it's in the red zone.

I think we roll this weekend. Do not see a problem unless the damn turnover bug hits us again.

Vegas agrees with you. ND -16.5. I was expecting the line to be about 7.5, so I was quite taken back by this.

I will be totally surprised if we roll. Before the year I had this as one of our three losses. (UM, Air Force, Stanford)

our team has so many weapons, and finally ND defense is back...

i think if we play a complete game we will win, it would be nice for at leat 4 touchdown victory...

Vegas has to get bets from both sides of the equation. There spreads weren't always based off real football knowledge.

That is not completely true. They have considerable football knowledge to set the lines at the proper point so they can make money. That takes tons of football knowledge.

They can't allow it to be one sided which is why lines change during the week. I didn't mean for it to seem they use no knowledge at all. You are right that they do know there stuff, but money is king.

On a side note Kelly tweeted that if your going to the game wear pink for cancer awareness.

I completely agree that money is king. They use their football knowledge to set a line that entices people to bet in a way that will make them tons of money.

In some cases, but most vegas sharps try to get betting on both sides as even as possible. They make most of their money on the juice. Public opinion weighs heavy on how the lines are set and line movement can be predetermined or swayed by public money.

I'm not as confident as some of you. Against any traditional running team (pro-style, spread) our D can stop them in their tracks. However, the triple option, especially at the very high level AF and Navy play it at, is very hard to stop without extreme discipline. Hopefully, the D learned enough from playing Army to build on that to prepare for AF. If the offense has any problem, I will be angry. It baffles me that the offense doesn't put up 50 on the service academies. I understand their d-line can get leverage but their linebackers, corners, safeties, etc. are slower and less talented than those of many other teams we face (I know they have some decent players, but you get my point). Hopefully, we run away with this one and the Navy game. I won't be able to stomach Niumatalolo's smirk on the sidelines.

I can't stare at the gif for too long because it might give me epilepsy, but is that Keanu Reeves?

I know our team has the ability to stop the triple option, but has Diaco figured out how to exactly?

And if you want to reference the Army game, that's the one game I missed because I was at one of my girlfriend's friends parties...ex-girlfriend...*****.

I seriously just came back and censored myself. Why is "bitch" not censored?

AF vs TCU

TCU was able to hold AF to very little points, and seemed to handle the chop blocks

I agree with the other that we have the skill to stop these teams. We just need to as a unit. We are going to need Nix,Lynch,Tuitt,Williams,Fox,Calabrese to be special. This are the youngs that need to play but need to be careful and not get fooled.

This game is not where lynch will be as effective We need EJ and Kap to hold the edges and do their jobs. We also need the linebackers and secondary to do their job as well

I think how improved this defense is up the middle with Irish Chocolate, Sean S., and moving Stephon inside, will help us against the fullback.

We got repeatedly gashed on the FB Dive last year because our defensive scheme was terrible, not because EJ and Ian Williams were lacking in talent or athleticism.

Wasn't trying to put the blame on EJ and Ian. Kelly has mentioned himself it was schematic. I just think our guys now are an improvement from last year. Anything helps, and it starts with taking the fullback away.

I think we get this one...pretty confident in our D right now. Coach D has option figured out and I see us winning this one 2 touchdowns and a FG. Might be acting like a slappy right now, but this is my first game of the year that I'll be attending and right now one of the only things I have on my mind is what to drink while I'm in SB...any suggestions on gameday cocktails?

I'm confident Diaco will have the schematic answers this time. I'm not confident that Tuitt, Lynch, and Shembo will play smart and disciplined enough to get the job done though. I'm praying EJ is good to go against AF.

Yesterday, Hansen mentioned that Kelly spent a lot of time on the phone with Lou Holtz before the Army game and we all liked our game plan against them. Hansen said he expects those two to be on the phone quite a bit this week as well, and that we wont see our typical 3 man fronts.

Did we ever hear a reason for Nix lining up a yard off the center? I really hope we don't see that this week.
