i know this isnt ND related but maybe someone who kno0ws more about this could help me out. It says the armed forced bowl is BYU vs. C-USA. I always thought the armed forces bowl was for any bowl elgible service academy not byu....hence why its called the armed forces bowl. When did that change?

I know the Gator Bowl isn't obligated to take Florida.

I have a good friend thats a HUGE FSU fan. He predicted both of us playing each other in a bowl at the end of this season, or next. But, he predicted the National Championship. Ha

Could just be that BYU worked out a deal starting this year since they are now independent. Could be something like if they are bowl eligible and don't make a BCS game, they will commit to the Armed Forces Bowl. They don't have any other bowl tie ins now so it could be the best they were able to do.

An interesting discussion might be if we should try something like that if we dont make the BCS. I dont think we would need it as much as BYU but ya never know.

ND does have a couple I believe. One of them is the Champ's Bowl, which can only have ND as a participant once every 3 years. I think there might be some other Big East bowl tie ins that ND could use. I doubt they'd have much issue getting a bowl invite as long as they are eligible and are willing to participate.

What did Obnoxious do with Glenville this weekend? Saw the sign in front of Byers that they played Saturday night but didn't see a score.

Iggy won 24-6. We dominated the whole game--our offense had some troubles but our defense was incredible, as usual. Glennville is always the 2nd biggest game of the year (after Ed's, of course) so the atmosphere was great--the stands were packed, which is impressive because Byers is a pretty big stadium. It was also the first cold weather game of the year, which to me is the real sign that football season is in full swing. My friends and I tailgated before the game starting around 2 (the game was at 7...a lot of hotdogs and hot chocolate was consumed. my partner and I went 6-0 in cornhole!), so it was a very good day.

I was also content with following the ND game on my phone--I didn't want a repeat of the scUM/homecoming incident

I love how scouts have to perform their due diligence and "go see" potential teams. ND would be any bowls top choice without question.

You need due diligence. That is why if I were a scout I would make sure I was at Bama-LSU just to see how legitimate those teams are

Haha so true. Champs Bowl rep pitching his assignment:

"Guys I'm gonna go check out Bama-LSU, you never know, one of them may lose their last 4 games and join the ACC before season's end"

I like think making incremental improvements to our quality of bowl opponent is the right way.

The Shamrock Bowl presented by Champs Sports has a nice ring to it.

I always thought that too. Its a shame how the citrus bowl has become the capital one bowls. I hate how a bowl game that has had memorable moments and a lot of emotion in them to a casual viewer seem like nothing more than a big advertisment for a credit card.
