I do understand where you're coming from. He has had similar surrounding happenings as Seantrel has. However, his handling of the situation has been dramatically different. First of all, he is not milking the recruiting season even nearly as much as Seantrel did. Second, he really has not done anything very diva-like. Yes, he has been a little bit of a mystery as far as what he is really thinking, but his and his father's backlash at the reporter was well-warranted I believe. Might it have been taking the high road to just keep their mouth shut? Maybe. But someone has to stand up to some of the ridiculously terrible journalism that goes on in some papers. His dad also said some very complimentary things about other Chicago reporters.

I think he was upset about the article. And I also think he wants to think out his choice a little more - no one can blame a kid for not exactly knowing where he wants to go to college during June of the summer before their senior year. I certainly didn't.

Terry, I think you are an awesome poster. And I appreciate the pain you bring on a regular basis, so don't take this response the wrong way! :D

I have some thick skin, and my mama talks trash better than you do.

I'm all for disagreements. No offense taken. We'll see how this recruiting cycle shapes up

Can't argue that point. I think even if that story broke and he went and chose Miami. The questions would of been about did he or did he not make the academics.

On this board, nowhere else. The stories would have been about the magnetism of da U not about "C" or "D"s in the 9th and 10th grade or the lack of math classes ND requires but the NCAA doesn't.

So you don't think a person in the room when he commits to whatever school, wouldn't ask such a question. Come on, these kids are being put on pedestal like there being drafted to the NFL. Joe Mcknight got ask about the call to Reggie Bush in Petey office.

That wasn't the comment you made in your previous post to which I responded. Now you're parsing your own statement. Sure there could be some twit in the audience that asks a stupid question.

I don't recall reading about questions regarding ND Admission being raised when Carson Palmer, David Terrell, Jarrett Payton, T.J. Duckett and a number of other notable recruits made their commitment to a school other than ND. The questions were about that program not the ones they didn't select (or didn't select them).

As I said earlier, there are probably issues from the 9th or 10th grade, a deficient grade, a course not taken, or a course taken which doesn't meet ND Admissions requirements something like "Math 101 - Introduction to the Hand Held Calculator for Jocks" instead of Algebra, Geometry, or Trig. ND Admission requirements are more stringent than the NCAA's which he apparently meets or exceeds.

Yes, some are put on pedestal. People of interest (to some) in a sport we follow. That said, there was a question of impropriety in McKnight's recruitment, a possible recruiting violation that prompted a germaine question as that school could have been barred from recruiting him. I recall a high profile DE that committed to another school but when it was learned that a coach from that school had given him a gift the NCAA barred that school from recruiting him. He signed with ND. I don't recall questions about the other school when he chose ND.

There is no question of impropriety with Daniels recruitment.

Apparently Andre Jones is really pulling for us on this one. Davaris took the SAT again 2 weeks ago, and if the scores are high enough he could get qualify for ND. I think if he does, it's an ND lock.

We thought that before the press conference too. Let's just wait this one out.

Not everybody thought that before the press conference that never was.

Then there was the more recent post raising Mike Frank's concern.

I hope he gets his numbers but it should be awhile before test results are available.

Yes, you're right. The doubts started creeping in as it got closer.

"The Royal 'we!' You know, the editorial..."

-Movie anyone?

I was hoping for him. Damn disappointed when the story broke and he pulled out of the presser. To me, this seemed like confirmation.

I hope I'm wrong. He would be a great addition to this verbal class.

All hope is not lost.

Did any story break on said players above about admission issues? Did these said players father fly off the handle going on a tirade about the reporter who reported it? It wasn't news worthly until Daniels' father reacted to it, thus, in the end the reporter got what he wanted, a recation to make it news worthly. Considering he lives in the Chicago area, you don't think a Sun Time reporter will be in the room when he commits to ask about it..

The man has a strong point. Forgive me to be so suspect, but I feel the impersonation thing to be way too easy to perform. We currently have another recruit profile I think is suspect.

lol, it is him...

why would any one impersonate a high school kid for the past 4 months??

...unless, of course, you believe his facebook page is just a fabrication as well????

So in recent updat in Mr Daniels saga, it appears his ACT score is the only thing holding him back. he will try to continue to retake the test but who knows. Here's hopin ND can get him in somehow because it appears he really want to be a part of the program

What update are you referring to? I'm not doubting you, just wondering.
