No doubt, I don't think anybody expected IU's offense to be this mediocre. Even without a defense they should have been able to beat North Texas (and I hate to say it) Ball State with their offense alone.

If Wilson picks it up as the season goes on I think he may stay. If not, well it's back to the big name schools. And don't forget, we were getting beat by other schools when it came to getting Kiel.

That was also when we had an apparent log-jam of talented QBs. Now with Dayne benched and Tommy struggling, he may be looking at our depth chart and thinking he could compete for playing time immediately.

ND's offense is a like a Lamborghini in need of a driver. Gunner knows that.

That's a bit over the top, no? The kid picked IU for crying out loud... If we're going to go all psychological here, he took the easy way out from the beginning. Big fish, small pond.... Dream small in IU because he could be BMOC and the expectations wouldn't drown him.

Love to have him, but his mind isn't in the right place just on that one selection alone...

But I feel like Alabama also has a couple of pretty capable QBs themselves with more years left than Dayne and Bama was beating us for Kiels services.

I'm not saying it isn't possible that somehow we land Kiel, but I don't think it's a high enough chance for me to get excited at the possibility of it happening. Hell, he's still committed to a school at the moment.

We don't know why he chose IU. A strong to desire to play in-state? To play with his brother?

We also don't know why he cooled on ND. Steep competition for PT? Kelly's obvious preference for dual-threat QBs?

It was probably a mix of all those things. I'm not inclined to write him off as a being afraid of competition based on our conjecture alone.

Maybe the upcoming pressure of having to play rival Purdue's Austin Appleby, who actually made the "Elite 11" was getting to him. I kid I kid......

Not ^this^ guy again.

If being a Hoosier cheerleader isn't enough to get you dismissed, having "kkk" in your name should be.

i thought this clown left too.

What a loser. He does nothing but bag on this site, its mods (well, me) and its members, and yet he keeps coming back for more. This is now the 4th different time he's been banned under a different username. I keep saying it, but just shoot me if ever feel the need to go continually go some place that I hate and that nobody likes me. But this clown apparently feels that need...

I don't think we can dogg the kid for picking the in-state school that his brother attends. In fact, I respect the idea of trying to bring a team to the top rather than just fall in line at a place like Alabama, which was probably just another school prior to his recruitment.

Sorry, HCTI, but I tend to agree with this sentiment. That said, would love to have him. He's a physical specimen.

Yes, because Tommy Rees, a non-runner, is having such a hard time moving this offense up and down the field.....

I know Tommy is having success moving the ball but he has zero athleticism and for this offense to be at full speed you need a dual threat QB

He reminds me of Dayne Crist with more touch coming out of HS

Watch this highlight film. Kiel is the perfect QB for Kelly's offense.

He's got enough mobility to run the Zone Read and to extend plays with his legs. That's all BK needs.

Accuracy, poise, and intelligence trump all other factors anyway.

He can run for a guy his size. If he wants to come to South Bend, I am all for it. I just dont want Golson's talent to go to waste

He is a lot more physical of a runner that Dayne was as well.

Dayne did have one hell of an arm though. Damn, his arm was/is big. I really wish things would have turned out better for him here.

I am not going to bag on this kid. He obviously has some talent. However, I think 2013 might hold more, and besides, I think Golson is going to be the return of the mack.

Sign him up if he wants a spot. You can never have enough good quarterbacks.

Crist certainly has more arm strength. Looking at this I agree Gunner is a more physical runner
