The Sun Bowl was won right there in that room at that time. Miami wanted no part of ND. That was freaking awesome. Reminds me of when the Patriots were announced as a team instead of as individual players for the Super Bowl against the Rams. Felt they immediately had a 10-0 lead. By the way, any word on Justin Utopo? Haven't seen his name anywhere this year.

Sun Bowl was won when Miami players came out dressed like they were playing outdoors in Anchorage. They weren't paid to play in the cold!

Burfict is easily the most mentally unhinged player I've ever seen. He is going to make some NFL team very happy, or very sad. He has Ron Artest written all over him.

All NCAA reprimands aside, why the HELL would you call a player out that is as, and I quote "deliciously violent", as Burfict is???

That's like telling Jack Torrence he's crazy...

EDIT: I got that "deliciously violent" quote from a Scott Van Pelt podcast.

Not sure if it's been talked about, but what are the chances of the ESPN Gameday crew coming to South Bend for this one?

There aren't a ton of big-time matchups across the country that day at first glance ...

Yeah they do love SEC country and LSU is/could be No. 1 still that week ... but Auburn could actually very easily lose the next 3 in a row.

I think USC/NC would both have to win out the next 3 weeks to get it more than likely.

Ntm, how often do they do any 2 of any team's games in the same year?

They have already done LSU twice this year. IMO they won't go to the same place twice, and/or cover a team for a 3rd time. From looking at the schedule, plus the fact that it is such a high profile game (first night game at ND in 22 years + against USC), all signs would point to Gameday being in South Bend.

The only other options are Wisconsin @ MSU, and a sleeper/ darkhorse in Air Force @ Boise St. if Air Force beats us.

Hmmm upon some further digging it appears Gameday did go to LSU twice in '07, both in the beginning half of the season, so it is definately possible. Is Auburn a big enough draw still? Will be interesting to see.

Fair enough. I'd actually like to see it, but I guess it depends on where both teams are when that week rolls around.

They may also hold off to see if ND keeps winning, in which case they could head out to the Stanford game for a possible 9-2 ND taking on a possible 11-0 Stanford team, which would be their own product as well since it's @ Stanford.

Although there are some other potentially great matchups that week, such as FSU @ UF, 'Bama @ Auburn, & Clemson @ South Carolina.

ESPN won't spend 4 hours advertising a game they aren't broadcasting.

Man, you're on a roll today.

They will do that, and they have done that in the past (or are you forgetting that they were here in 2005 for the Bush=Push game, broadcast by NBC?). I know for a fact last year they were at a game they didn't broadcast. C'mon man...
