The fans to stop nit picking every detail of every game, player, play, and analyzing, and over analyzing, and complaining every saturday win or lose. Accept the fact that ND has made mistakes, stupid ones, but are getting better and turning a corner, thanks to KELLY.

What about the CAT position? Flemming seemed to have a quiet game again. Did Filer out play him this past week, how about Filer starting?

This.

And I'd like to see Bruce Heggie get a shot at punter. He might be better, but we all know he's going to look way sweeter regardless.

We should clone Bruce Heggie and have him start at every position.

Hi, I think this would be a pretty damned boring website if we all just agreed and accepted things as they are. Just my opinion.

Agreed, but most of the first 3 weeks, we act like my 2 year old son when he doesn't take a nap, everything gets blown out of proportion. A INT turns into bench the QB, a 3 and out means our Offense sucks and when the CB makes a bad play on the ball he should never play again. Hell even when we win everyone acts like the sky is falling.

My thoughts on your thoughts.

For me here is my following wish list. Tis may not lead to an improvement but the "Status Quo" is not making the grade IMO.

- New Punter Who? There is no one else on our roster and the rugby punt actually worked really well for Turk.
- New Punt Returner (How about Toma, Harrison Smith, Blanton, Michael Floyd) We need to give Theo another shot.
- Different starting QB with expanded offense to truly include a QB run option threat. To be quite honest, I hate how Tommy gives the ball away and struggles to make plays outside of the pocket. But I think the QB-change ship has sailed.
- Start Lynch I don't think it matters as long as we see a healthy rotation of guys.
- Don't start Niklas or Fox again Not much to say here.
- More Nix whenever possible Yeah they need to give him as big of a workload as he can handle.
- More blitzing when Lycnh is in and more stunting Interesting.
- Get more creative in the run game especially in the second half when everyone has figured it out. Agreed. We got very predictable with when we were going to run the ball and how. When we keep the opposition off balance our running attack has been incredibly effective.
- Try the lepracat, maybe even use Goodman since he can throw the ball. NO.
- Develop a FB on the team for short yardage or get a dual threat QB in there. Eh.
- New ND logo on the home jerseys (looks too muddled) Eh.
- Back in the day 70/80/90's the ND pants had a shiny front to them. Eh.
- What would a home throw back jersye look like? Eh.

The only real changes I want to see (outside of the turnovers) is with the special teams. Turk has to go. His shanks always seem to come at the worse possible times. And we need a change at punt returner. We need someone back there that isnt afraid to take a hit. Fair catches on every punt is not a good thing (when you are recieving that is).

Basically how I feel about this thread..

The issues with this team are pretty obvious. Quarterback play, short-yardage running, and the punt teams all need to improve. The solution is not typically just to mix things up personnel wise (that is a tactic that works more often at the professional levels), just coach 'em up and improve. Brian Kelly's teams have always improved as time went on and that's really all you can ask for.

We need to seriously stop asking to see Golson whenever Rees makes a mistake.

And please realize that the entire DL is very good and Lynch starting is moot. Ethan Johnson and the rest of the crew are doing a damn fine job and deserve to be commended.

Tommy's done OK but he is not a BCS bowl caliber QB. Dayne needs another chance as his upside is greater and he has flashed it in last years UM, Mich St. and BC games. IF we need our offense to produce and we don't shut it down like we did in the second half of the Mich st game then Tommy will continue to throw 2 Ints a game.

Wait...did we lose by 18 against a lowly ranked team or win by 18 aganst the 15th ranked team in the country?

Good grief, as has been said, I'm all for debate, but this is ridiculous. There's a reason why people think ND fans are clueless and have unreal expectations, and this post is exhibit #1,428.

* If we gave Crist another shot (even though Tommy just beat the #15 team in the nation handily and engineered a HUGE 93 yd drive at the end of the first half), and we lost, you would probably be the first one calling for BK's head. Sorry, but asking for ANOTHER QB change after a huge win is ridiculous. Rees is the starter and will be for the foreseeable future...and he will win.

* Who are you starting Lynch over? KLM just had his best game of the season, and Johnson has been AWESOME against the run all season long. Those 2 guys are a big part of the reason why our defense has been so good against the run. Lynch needs to tap out a lot (per BK and we even saw him do it on replays) b/c he's not ready for the load that the starters get, and he still got a lot of plays anyway. One great game and you want to replace 2 seniors who are also playing very well??? C'mon man.

* Nix plays as much as he can. What is there to change with that? You think the coaches don't see what a dominant force he is? With your suggestion, that is how players get worn out at the end of games/seasons. They're using Nix very well.

* Goodman got beaten out by a freshman last year, can't sniff the field on offense, and now drops punts, and you want to get him MORE involved??? And who is our best weapon on offense, perhaps a top 3 wide-out in the game? By using more wildcat, you effectively take Michael Floyd out of the game. I can see it MAYBE once in a while, but as long as Michael Floyd is in the game, use him as a weapon.

* And you can't use Golson or Hendrix yet as a starter just b/c you want a dual-threat QB. You just can't can't, unless you want to throw away the season. Freshmen QBs just don't win consistently. You think Rees turns it over a lot? Wait until you see an even younger QB. And the playbook shrinks CONSIDERABLY when you take Rees out. (Bye-bye to all those incredible audibles at the line.) And Crist hardly runs, so he's not the dual-threat that would thrive in this offense.

* Niklas had to start. Fox and Calabrese will continue to split time.

* As far as the uniform, I don't care. Just win.

I would like to see Cam McDaniel get a shot at punt returner, if we are up a few scores.

Right now, Goody is that guy, he won't drop another all year.

As always, GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too. But I can promise you that Cam wants his chance more than any of us on this thread...whether it is a PR, a KR, a carry, a pass - ANYTHING.

No one is getting any yardage on punts with our blocking. We need a guy who can make the fair catch and Goodman is our best bet.

Better second half rushing after the opponents make changes during half time.

Harrison Smith returning punts is a GREAT IDEA! He can fly, played against him in high school and shows great vision as a runner.

this makes no sense at all. we just beat the number 15 team in the country and everyone wants to make changes. thank god bk is making the decision and everyone needs to step back and relax andlet this man do what ghe does and that is win games. he done it everywhere he's been and will do it here if he has timeto get the right players in here and get them ready for playingthe game the right way. we should be 3-0 this year but the turnovers have really hurt us and they happen. we just have to take care of the ball and stop turning it over and this team will be in great shape.

as far as the freshman go. He is doing a good job at getting them ready for next year when we will really need them. Get them some snaps in and they will that much better prepared or next year.Everyone here knew that it would take few seasons to get this program back to where it needed to be and I think bk has done a great job at building this program back and the future looks really good with him as coach.

People need to stop lecturing on here about how we're not allowed to speculate/criticize certain plays, calls, decisions, etc.

I'll take BK over anyone in the country but let's not act like he can should always go without someone legitimately questioning a decision, statement, etc.

Nobody's perfect.

I propose a new rule, ELE. Everybody Love Everybody! (Semi-pro).

We all believe in BK. At least 98% of us do. If someone goes off the deep end and calls for his head or Rees to never play again, then there's a problem. But questioning Rees as the starter, a play call, etc aren't fighting words. Sometimes they're just legit questions for discussion/input.

If someone says "Rees should be benched", instead of calling them idiots and telling them they should probably never post on here, why not explain to them why you believe he should remain the starter. Don't you think they'll be more inclined to actually hear you out if you take the latter approach?

If we aren't allowed to debate over decisions by our coach then this board will be too dry.

Go Irish!

I'd like to see the leprecat, just because.
Gary to make a play on the ball during a deep pass.
Someone to block during a punt. Goodman fair catches everything, but I think its out of habit because usually he's surrounded.
More KO return TDs.
A game without a fumble.
A game without a turnover or bonehead penalty.
Cam McD and DaVaris on the field, just because.
Also, more winning, that is always nice.

Keep in mind that the Bears made it to the SB with Grossman and the Ravens won it with Dilfer... defense defense defense.

Still like BK with his red face and all. Should have really asked for Dayne to get another chance. I have never said anyone stinks but just think we can do better and could use some added options

* Who are you starting Lynch over? KLM just had his best game of the season, and Johnson has been AWESOME against the run all season long. I guess I'm just hoping for more heat on the QB our DB's need the help of a line that pressures the QB better. Not sure how many holding calls our other lineman drew.

* Nix plays as much as he can. What is there to change with that? You think the coaches don't see what a dominant force he is? With your suggestion, that is how players get worn out at the end of games/seasons. They're using Nix very well.
I guess I'm hoping for Nix to continue to improve his conditioning so we can see him more. He is a beast.

Don't want to see Goodman as a Rcvr just know he ran a fe nice plays out of the wildcat before and a nice TD pass on a reverse. As a WR I don't want to see him again.

* And you can't use Golson or Hendrix yet as a starter just b/c you want a dual-threat QB. You just can't can't, unless you want to throw away the season. Freshmen QBs just don't win consistently. Should have been more specific and asked for a second chance for Crist. I think they could run him more now that we all know we have a group of capable QB's.

* Niklas had to start. Fox and Calabrese will continue to split time.
Ignorant comment on my part. Just thought that Niklas was lost on the TD and was lost when the D was pushing him into position. I do like to see more of the young guys get a chance.

* As far as the uniform, I don't care. Just win.
Just a superficial observation. They can wear Maryland style uniforms if they win.

Alot of us are Monday morning QB's. with the exception of a few comments I put a wish list out there and maybe should talk about what types of results we want to see.

I'm not going to page through the numerous threads, it's not on this one but something very similar if not verbatim has been said.
