Butterflies am I the only one who has them for this game?

Hey guys I know a lot of you might think im harping on the negatives (hello NDinLA ) but is anyone else worried about this game. With all the upsets from the last few years I just think that USF might just have it in them, I hope we are ready and I hope our studs are ready to play hard because I think this might be an upset and I got butterflies anyone else feel me here? Of course I will have butterflies before every game until we raise up the national championship trophy one day

Well, I think you might have extra butterflies because it is, after all, the first game of the season and the high expectations seem real this time.. not just inflated by Beano and Lou. Even some of our regular haters seem to be expecting a BCS run.

Don't worry Rudy, you'll feel better after ND forces a quick three n out and the offense power runs to a 7-0 lead.

BK will have the boys prepared to wreak havoc. Hasn't this off-season seemed longer than most? It has for me. It has because I know this will be a special year and Saturday will be an awesome day.

I'm vey nervous. USF makes me a little nervous, but I'm more just anxious to see this team play and confirm they are who we think they are. On paper there should be nothing to get too concerned about, but I've had this feeling before that we were ready to make a move, only to have my chair moved out from under me. I just want to see this team play like we think they can once before I can be totally comfortable. Until that happens I'll be nervous.

I hope it is just butterflies and not the bubble guts. When it comes to butterflies it is expected, the whole offseason leads to this game for us fans. We don't have winter workouts, spring workouts, or summer workouts to temper our anticipation. All we have are preview after preview pulling our emotions in different directions. Now it is here.

If it is the bubble guts well I feel sorry and you might need some Pepto Bismol.

I am nervous.

To me, during the 1st week, there aren't very many upsets between BCS teams.

Rankings are hard to do, so just because you are ranked and the other team isn't doesn't mean that they are just as good or better. Not saying that is the case here but IF USF were to win, then go on to win 9 or 10 games and we only win 7 or 8, is it still an upset?

Do you get what I am saying? I think I confused myself. lol

God forbid it comes to this but over the offseason i have aacquired many wrestling dvds, anime dvds, and dvds of super hero tv cartoons, along with comics I have a lot of them but I havent watched any of them with the sad thought of "one day a football game might get ugly or the day after after a football loss ill feel down and i will need them as a distraction" I always feel that when this happens I need to think of the polar opposite of football which happens to be my geeky side Hopefully tho I wont need them at all this year

how about a harrison smith pick 6 then a manti fumble recovery for 6 then we get our 3 and out with another blocked punt for 6 then another 3 and out where the offense finally gets the ball and on the first play dayne finds either floyd or riddick for 6

I have some nerves, but mostly just in anticipation. Anything can happen in sports. USF is a good team. If things don't go ND's way on Saturday, it won't be for lack of effort, preparation, focus, or talent. Everything seems to be in place from watching the offseason and how this team is handling business.

the only nervousness I have is that 'good' kind of nervousness; its that same kinda feeling I had as a kid just after opening kickoff, as the defense would take the field to start a game. Then once the first play is ran, and you get that first contact, all the nervousness is instantly gone and its gametime!

My thought is the ND defense is not going to let USF score much, so the offense wont have to be lights-outs all game long. that being said, I dont think the offense is going to sputter, but I really think the defense will lessen the pressure on the offense, possibly making it easier for the offense to succeed.

Not really... they can either come away with a loss like expected by most, or make a statement. I think we have more to lose becasue it will be an embarassment if we lose. It isn't that way for them because they are the underdog.
