I also think this will be a dangerous game for us, but let's not oversell AF. They finished the season as a 3rd tier program, ranked 46th in the nation, and they only return 14 of 24 starters. Their Rush Defense was quite weak at 79th.

We have the talent to win this game comfortably. The real question is whether Diaco can prepare his defense to stop AF's potent combo of passing and option running. The Army game implies that he's certainly capable, but AF is several orders of magnitude better than Army.

I'm confident in young Bobby D.

Have a great time. The last ND vs. AF game I went to was the game back in '07. It was a great time even though we lost the game.

Watching the AF/TCU game. AF is scrappy as usual but there DLine looks tiny. Steele lists them as 260, 265, 255 but they look smaller than that. TCU's 300 pound OLine is opening holes and the TCU backs including QB Pachall are picking up big chunks of yardage. The AF LBs and DBs swarm to the ball but TCU's backs are breaking tackles on play after play.

Wood and Gray should have a big day.

I will also be there...this is a game that we should win especially if our D line holds up like it did against MSU...we'll see what happens...regardless it's going to be a beautiful day in SB. Go Irish!

This game worries me.

When playing a team like Air Force, or Navy, teams need to capitalize on their offensive opportunities. In 2009 against Navy, Notre Dame put up 512 yards of offense, but if you remember they turned the ball over in ridiculous ways. Jimmy Clausen technically threw an interception...after it hit Michael Floyd in the back because he didn't turn around. Sound familiar? How about when, if I remember correctly, Clausen was running into the endzone but fumbles on the one yard line. Sound familiar? What about when Tausch, who had made a then school record 14 straight field goals, missed a field goal from the 24-yard line.

Those are all mistakes this Notre Dame team has made so far this season. As good as Air Force is in what they do, if the Irish keep stepping on their own d*cks in the same fashion they have all season....this will not be a victory.

I'm really, really, really interested in seeing what Diaco conjures up in terms of a gameplan after the debacle against Navy last year. I know they aren't the same team, or even the same playbook, but they are very similar (..right? hah) and with Air Force being the leading rushing team in the country and so damn unorthodox, I am worried.

If the Army game from last year was any indication, I think we might be all right. We have been good against the run all year

I'll be at this game, hopefully it'll turn out better than the South Florida one. That was horrible between shooting ourselves in the foot and the weather.

Air Force is all banged up i think we definatley should win this one... the revealing of the new devine statue on friday is going to be cool... ND finally gets rolling just in time to ride the win streak thru USC.

If Navy can run for 334 on these guys, we certainly can.

Shut down the Air Force offense and I like our chances.
