Oh ****.... like new, recent BS? Or the same old cheating from the Michael Irvin era?

I hope this doesn't hit them too hard.

They're going to need all of the help they can get in Chicago next year...

I think I'm going to that game.

I don't think miamis relevant enough for this to be a ten.

i think it is. it isn't really that relevant in football, at least not recently, but it's still definitely a high-profile program and if the accusations are serious enough i think it could be a ten. just my opinion.

They have been more successful over the past decade than Notre Dame, who would be considered a 10.

But ND has 90+ years of history on its side...plus the "Catholic university of America," a very pristine rep for following the rules and having stringent and high academic standards for its student athletes, 7 Heisman winners, NC's, etc.

Miami has been relevant only since Schnelleneberger, is notorious for bad behavior within the team/athletic department, hasn't done much since '02, and can't even sell out their stadium. Sure, as college football fans we all want Miami want to be relevant and field a strong team year in and year out, but I don't think Miami would be 2 points higher on the scale than OSU. Unless it was same stuff going on now that was going on years ago or drugs or felonies were uncovered. I think something of that magnitude could tip the scale to a 10.

Or if had something to do with The Rock, Vanilla Ice, or Don Johnson and his beard...any of those would make it a 10++

I'll be disappointed if this is the "10". It's a big deal when an elite program gets nailed for corruption; Miami hasn't been elite in almost a decade.

It would be nice for Miami to be on the rise when we play them in the future. If they get slammed now, those games will be cheapened.

Totally agree. Also, if Miami was cheating bad enough to be the "10," what does that say? They haven't been good in half a decade. They're either terrible at cheating or they have become so bad that no amount of cheating can help them be good.

Kinda sad. I hope this isn't the "10" for several reasons.

There is a four year statute of limitations, but there is plenty of information that this extends to the present. Will they hold on to their recruits? Can previous wrongs be used as a pattern of behavior to increase the severity of the infractions?

This is unreal. How can you possibly claim "we didn't know?" We didn't know = we didn't even try at all to find out. This article is long but worth a full read. Miami absolutely needs to get hit with FM. I bet Al Golden is not very pleased he walked into the middle of this.

Renegade Miami football booster spells out illicit benefits to players - Investigations - Yahoo! Sports

The best part? Paul Dee, the athletic director when Miami was sanctioned for $250k of Federal Pell Grant Fraud for its athletes in 1995, is the head of the NCAA Committee of Infractions. He was the athletic director until 2008... the entire period for these violations. The NCAA is becoming a joke between OSU getting buddy treatment and Miami about to dodge this bullet.

I think this is suppose to be the "10" considering they conducted an 11 month investigation into this

This has to be it.

This has to be it.

Here it is. If the NCAA doesn't bring the hammer on this one, it won't have any legitimacy left IMO. This is crazy. This guy gave them straight cash and paid for prostitutes, parties, abortions, housing, meals, strippers, and who knows what else.

Actually, the 10 is coming tomorrow from what I hear... supposedly the name of the Cam Newton bag man is going to be revealed on the air.

Interesting in that it can actually expand beyond the 4 year limitation if it the booster committed willful violations, which appears to be the case.

Are they already on Probation of sorts?

Are they already on Probation of sorts?

Where do you find information on the programs that are on probation or some type of watch by the NCAA? I'm having a debate with my boss on whether or not Miami will get the death penalty or not for this. If they're already on some type of high level probation, then they're screwed.

Of course, this guys reputation isn't all that stellar but you have to think if these claims are true the NCAA will have to put a serious hammer to Miami. I'm arguing that they have to get the death penalty for these incidents. My boss argues that because it's Miami (with all of their college football glory) they won't get the death penalty, and the NCAA doesn't want another SMU that will take 25 years to recover from.

Wow. If this is a '10', that's the reason. It's not just going to take down a program, but discredit the NCAA.

Talk about a disappointing 10. I am actually disappointed for Miami. They are won of the schools who I wanted to make a comeback with regards to program status. Not sure why I feel that way, but I do.
